Agree about the Timeshare Sales guys! We own 2 timeshares and have only stayed in a Las Vegas Timeshare every stay since 2002 and every time WE get hit with an invite to the "Owners Meetings" which is code word for sales presentation. We did it once in Las Vegas (got free tickets to TWO shows) but never again!!!!

A good tip is the people that are selling bottled water on the strip for a couple of bucks. We have found that the water is not spring water, its tap water and the bottles are not sealed properly.

Just as an aside in regard to split-staying: every hotel I’ve stayed at in Vegas has allowed me store my luggage with their concierge until check-in time. Just ask them to hold onto it and they’ll give you a ticket to pick it up later at check-time in.

You two nailed this video. The scams are so bad we have no desire to return to Vegas anytime soon. Here's one I would like to add. About 1.5 years ago we came into town to celebrate my wife's birthday with a Lady Gaga show and dinner. I ordered a bourbon at the resort steak house. When I got my bill the cost of the drink was $3.00 higher than advertised. I questioned the server about the discrepancy and he stated the three dollar charge was for the ice cube, no joke! Vegas has become a huge money pit with ridiculous charges and fees. Thank you for your hard work and educating folks on these scams!

Scams I seen. 1. People handing out CDs saying they are up in coming rappers. 2. Monks placing the bracelet on you while "greeting". Then when trying to give back the Monk was aggressive and did not take back item. 3. Baited as walking in to a Casino and a fake booth getting tourist to take a day trip to a resort. I couldn't make it.. Took a lot of work to get back my $50. Idk remember if I gave a deposit or If I was promised the $50. But I found the spot on way out of town and picked up my money. Not an easy task. 4. Don't buy water bottles on strip $20. Vending machines in bridge walk way had 2 for $12 LG Beers and waters. Just found channel. Love it.

I never play roulette, but it proves to me that those who do have no understanding about the basics of any gambling game. Adding another 0 kills the already slim chance of winning. Quite a shame how Vegas has evolved over the years. First trip was in 1995 -- Well after LV's 70's heyday -- but you could still get a steak and lobster tail dinner for $6 at the Stardust, and similar deals up and down the strip. They were loss leaders for which they'd more than make back via the one-arm bandits. I visited a few more times up until about 5 years ago. There were a handful of hotels with no resort fees, now they all pretty much seem to have them, and many are over $40 per night! Then to find out in many cases that resort fee doesn't even cover access to the pool? Then all this nickel and diming for parking, early check-in, and on and on? It's become much more attractive to me to gamble at the nearest tribal casino or on cruise ships. The slots are tighter, and they usually don't provide free booze while you're playing. But I don't feel like I'm being extorted at every turn. Vegas has killed the golden goose.

Show girls and costumed actors are not allowed to charge a fee. They work for tips. They may argue, but it's tips only. And they don't make change, so don't hand them 100 and expect change back. And if paying $40+ in resort fee, should be able to connect as many devices as you want to wifi.

For ATM fees, I'm surprised that you didn't mention CVS, Walgreens, or Target ATMs. Those are Allpoint ATMs, and many banks let you use them for free. If it's not free for you, the fee is still only $3.50. Much less than what the casino ATMs charge.

If your debit card is part of one of their networks (mine is Allpoint), you should be able to get cash at the CVS & Walgreens ATMs without a fee.

While taxis may be more expensive than Uber normally, surge pricing can make them competitive. This week I was at Resorts World looking for a ride to Flamingo. Both Uber and Lyft were at $10 and required walking to a remote pickup area. Taxi was 50' away and cost $12. Pickup at airport on Sunday morning to Flamingo was $28, while taxi flat rate is $30 and no waiting. I used Uber to airport Thursday afternoon and made the request while in the elevator at Flamingo. It's a bit of a walk to the pickup area and the driver arrived 1 minute before me. Bill had a 70 cent waiting fee applied along with a "booking" fee.

Thanks for sharing your experience, yes, very good point to watch out for surge pricing and any tacked on fees. We have contested unfounded waiting fees previously and had Uber remove them - this happened to us a lot in Mexico City, not so much in Las Vegas.

uber and lyft can be cheaper or more expensive. depends on what's going on and the amount of request vs the amount of drivers on the road or what type of event is going on ...if its busy they will surge...former gig driver

Great Video. I did notice at the Street Food Court at Resorts World there was already a fee added to the food when you order from the kiosk. On top of that they still ask for tip! So it's completely possible you are adding 20-30% to your bill.
