This one was so real to me. Darkness by Eminem is a song I wish I could hear for the first time over and over!
Leave a comment and tell me what to react to next.

Too many people see the video without listening to the lyrics. Em has created a masterpiece with darkness. Em has done what he does best taking an important subject and instead of sugar coating it lays it out bare to shock people into talking about it and so want something to be done.

ann brown I like Eminem but to say that he’s just laying down the facts is completely wrong. He’s laying down political bias. This song literally pushes for gun control and Eminem just doesn’t know what he’s talking about when it comes to firearms.

How he actually whispers "double entendre" and the Sound of Silence being played on piano and the sadness in the singer's voice. The shooter had 47 assault rifles with some modified with bump stock. No civilians needs those kind of weapons! I was in the FSU Strozier Library shooting in 2014. Changed my life after being barracading under a table, bullets flying by striking bookcases. Some think Em is ghost but Eminem is WOKE! Thanks for being vulnerable! I cried with you my guy! 🔥🔥💛💛💛💛💛

Peace Train, Paddock absolutely did own 47 guns. He had 24 of them in the Las Vegas hotel room that he committed the mass shooting from. Twenty-four firearms, a large quantity of ammunition, and numerous high-capacity magazines capable of holding up to 100 rounds apiece were found in the suite. Fourteen of the firearms were .223-caliber AR-15-type semi-automatic rifles: three manufactured by Colt, two by Daniel Defense, two by FN Herstal, two by LWRC International, two by POF-USA, one with a .223 Wylde chamber by Christensen Arms, one made-to-order by LMT, and one by Noveske. The others were eight .308-caliber AR-10-type rifles, one .308-caliber Ruger American bolt-action rifle, and one .38-caliber Smith & Wesson Model 342 revolver. The AR-15 rifles were fitted with vertical forward grips and bump fire stocks, the latter of which allowed for recoil to actuate their triggers at a rate of 90 rounds in 10 seconds. The AR-10 rifles were equipped with various telescopic sights and mounted on bipods.

This whole album alone is to put everyone in their places. Godzilla proved Eminem is still the fastest spitter of all time 229 in 30s Darkness as his album platform to bring awareness of gun violence to prove he isn’t living under a rock. Stepdad where he’s completely vulnerable with his feelings saying he’s as human as you or your brother. Leaving heaven shows the anger he has for everyone in his life that got him where he is now. Why does everybody act like this is such a complicated problem? The Vegas shooter couldn't have killed and wounded OVER 400 PEOPLE from a mile away if high-magazine, military-grade gun ownership was illegal here like it is everywhere else in the world. Most countries have never had a mass-shooting event; we have half a dozen each year. Don't get distracted by red herrings from the gun industry about mental illness, this is all about the GUNS.

Em is a genius with the double entendres: "murder a show", "looking through the curtain", "the stage", etc. The world needed this song, both because we need someone as influential and respected as Eminem to echo the truth about mass shootings and because 95% of rap songs these days aren't saying shit aside from "I have nice car, I have much money, I is in gang, I get very sex, yuh yuh yuh skirt skirt." And man I remember hearing about the Vegas shooting when it happened and thinking "oh, another mass shooting, okay..." Now that I'm seeing this video and how horrifically sad the event was, the fact that my response was "oh, another one" shows there's a deep problem with this country and its gun laws. It's a whole different experience when you can see and hear the real people screaming and dying, nothing like this should be normal anywhere. This is also the first Eminem song I heard that I don't even want to rap along to, it feels less like an entertaining rap song and more of an elegantly told story that I can only listen to intently. I'm just wondering how I managed to survive growing up, living in the South where guns are as common as people without a college degree and going to public schools from 2005 to 2017. I got lucky.

I really like the "that's a lot of shots, huh?" Because it's the alcohol he's talking about but as it zooms on the shot glass, you can see the bullets so you realise that it's actually about the gun and the shots being fired.

@The Habbo God Basically this is how the majority of society today thinks: White guy addressing mass shootings = preachy, SJW, get politics out of muh music. Black guy whines about slavery and other things he never actually experienced for a day in his life = intellectual, groundbreaking, reeeee all white people are privileged and all black people deserve free money reeeee.

@The Habbo God It's just hilarious to me how rap has gone from "I went through shit all my life, and now I'm gonna fuck up anyone who stands between me and what I want" to "I had a pretty good life growing up, but people of my race 200 years ago didn't have good lives so feel sorry for me".

Hey man God bless your soul. I've been listening to eminem since I was a little kid and he has got me through the hardest times. When I came to Christ in 2019 god opened my eyes to finally see what eminem was pointing to. Through out his whole career he has been crying out for help. We need to pray for Marshall. Imagine if he could use his impeccable ability to praise God. Kanye did now Justin Bieber and I know I'm my heart that he will too. Also my cousin was in the Vegas shooting and got shot in the liver and jaw. She's doing very well praise God. And also my little cousin was killed the santa Clarita school shooting in November of 2019. I'm in a Christian dicipleship program and I was laying on the couch when he dropped the album and this was the first song and I just broke down. Everything in life points to Christ. Victory is already made! Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your paths. I'm 20 and life has just started

NEW SUBSCRIBER BECAUSE OF THIS VIDEO. So wonderful and refreshing to hear an intelligent, pure of spirit, kind, genuine person in touch with their soul and emotions on this platform. Just wanted to say your presence is appreciated. This track and video made me cry as well. I felt it too. I am a different faith than you, I’m Jewish. But that makes no difference in that I felt the commonality of our souls crying out in unison as we watched the depiction of the unfortunately all to real life tragedy that unfolds in this video. Just hits at a deeper level sharing that viewing with someone who it also hits so deeply with. Thank you for expressing your truth, being unafraid to share your emotions (that most of us share with you), and for your genuineness in sharing this experience with all of us. ❤️ may all the victims of senseless acts of violence Rest In Peace. Easy to say the guy was crazy but was he? What do you do when you have this kind of massacre and the best conclusion law enforcement came to was "We just don't know..."....no answers...no reasons..just collected a MASSIVE amount of firepower (he had more ammo in that hotel room than any SOLDIER in a war zone firefight)....and all perfectly legal...

“The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” - Doesn’t matter who does what. England has more gun crime per capita and they banned firearms. There’s a stabbing in Australia every three seconds and they banned firearms. The Vegas shooter was suffering from PTSD and the VA wasn’t helping (this in information given to us by his family members). You don’t have to have prior convictions to be mentally ill. If someone decides to kill innocent people in mass numbers, then they’re mentally ill.

Hip hop in general kept me off of cigarettes, alcohol and drugs as a whole where as instead of taking up smoking or drinking to cope with stress or instead of turning to drinking for drugs to cope with life. I just blasted some hip hop but Eminem specifically is what made me see hip hop as an outlet. I truly believe in my lowest times (apart from how it would affect my mum) Eminem's music is what kept me alive. In a point where I was sure everyone was talking shit behind my back, if I talked about it more people would talk shit. When around other people I would put on a mask and act like I was normal. From the time I was roughly 10 (probably earlier if I really think) up until about year or 2 ago (I'm 28 now), I have always put on a mask when I was with other people and broke down when alone. Eminem's music just gave me an outlet to just get pumped and just think fuck you all, fuck the world, fuck everything. There is a lot more but it doesn't specifically involve Eminem so if I don't shut up now otherwise I'll just keep rambling on. Even though I am in no way a religious person (apart from a bout in primary school when we had a RE teacher come in to teach us about religion and don't get me started on that obvious brainwashing) but I can respect choosing religion as a comfort, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else do anything you want is my motto. I really respect how you can break down these songs and not be preachy about it.

Mixed with the insane empathy for these victims...I uncontrollably put myself in the shoes of these lost lives,the fear,the franaticism... I hurt so bad for anyone this lost to take these lives.. crazy how the entire song has a double meaning. 'You cant murder a show nobody''s at'. Also really well portrayed about the shooter not having a crminal/registered mental issue history and is a licensed owner, and thus: 'sky's the limit, his supply is infinite''. Change the gun laws guys, not the root of the issue but it'd help a little, so also definitely don't forget to put even more focus on attention to mental health problems.

@Ernaldo shupe easy access to high power, and rapid fire guns needs to be restricted.... It works everywhere else in the civilised world.... Only Americans have this problem
@NouinouH
@NouinouH 4 жыл бұрын
@Ernaldo shupe The faster the bullets, the more people die, by only limiting access to rapid fire would not end shootings but it will significantly decrease the number of deaths. increasing security at the hotel would have easily prevented Las Vegas shooting. You can't bring multiple rifles to an hotel room like that. Ok you're a licensed owner ? Let's get ahold of them and you can get your guns back when you’re leaving. This won't prevent the shooting but at least bullets won't come flying from the sky.. This is just an opinion. Shootings will never stop but number of casualties could at least decrease

@Ernaldo shupe Just tries to learn from the world. Take Switzerland. They have more weapon per person but there's no single shooting. Because people respect guns. they even let their kids learn how to shoot from a gun. I don't know what is holding the USA.Probably, egoism.

@Ernaldo shupe Hi, in my country it is really difficult to get a gun. If you want to, you can get it but you have to go through a lot of controls and stuff. You can never get a rapid fire gun. That is illegal. Just so you know,. we never had a school shooting (Not to jinx it.) We don´t carry guns and we usually don´t have them at our house or disposal. As I said, you are free to get one, but it is not easy. Greetings from the 10th safest country in the world :).

It's like Eminem pointed out at the end of the song "When will this change, When enough people care", this is how you use a platform to point out what is wrong with the world. He's basically asking when will you care enough to voice your opinion about the gun laws, when will enough be enough

Hello darkness my old friend hits me very different. From Simon and Garfunkel. Even caught the piano from the song. I did not know something so utterly dark and beyond horrific could be beyond such a masterpiece. Eminem might have not gotten a lot of love for the song.....NOW. But in the future this song will certainly be held as a masterpiece of music. Of the reactions I have seen of this song.....yours shows the most humanity. It shows your compassion and love. Keep doing you. Haters come and go. You are forever.

The reason I subscribed was BECAUSE of the abrupt ending. I can 100% relate, and I think that is what this track needs and deserves. There is a whole lot in their to process, to really give a final conclusion. I'm not done yet either. But proud of Em for that track. This will deservedly go down as one of his classics/most important songs.

How come people keep missing the fact the entire song is a sample from Simon and Garfunkel’s ‘Sound of Silence’? That’s a layer so many have missed. There’s no explanation because the shooter kept it silent...

Dude, id like to just thank you for 'getting' this, ive seen people have this go over there heads and they think em is rapping about him shooting up a crowd...NO! listen properly and watch people, this is DEEP art, its a masterpeice! Its what sets eminem apart from every other rapper, maybe only joyner lucas could do similiar, this is powerful storytelling, hits you right in the heart, i actually feel bad for eminem though cuz hes so good that alot of his stuff people are too lazy to understand so they just jump on it, i fear hes another one that will only truly be appreciated when hes dead and thats so fuckin sad, this is a masterpeice up there with stan!
