I was in the 213th at the same time as you . As a crew chief on the Company’s OH-58 checking the mast head oil levels, that morning of the incoming mortars that took out the Huey several revetments away. Thanks for the Phu Loi memories.

It is important not to let anyone forget what those who served in Vietnam did in service to our country. Thank you for this exquisitely filmed montage of that era. The music in the background has a touching yet somewhat haunting tone. I sincerely appreciate the quality of videos you post. Thank you!

I was the Canadian medic with the 11th CAB DispensaryMarch 69-70. Flew once with the Blackcats as well as flying with 128th. Shared many good times with the 213th.I'm back in Canada and would like to wish you all a WELCOME HOME! We did our job well and should all be proud. I don't think Vietnam will ever leave any of our memories, but at least we can cling to the good ones. Proud to have known you and proud to have come down and serve with you.

sandia man Thanks for the welcome home. Glad that you come and visit Canada. Canada and the US have a unique relationship unlike any other two countries that I know of. I was glad to come down and lend a hand. You may want to check out The Ballad of Don Rogelio on youtube. It was a song written by a friend of mine about my service. It has over 1200 views but no one has commented on it, but those I have talked to were all moved. It shows how young we all were. A welcome home to all of the 213th. I was proud to serve wth you all. Doc

I was in the 213th from October 69 through July 71 and we never had a 3-corps symbol on the aft pylon of any Chinook. There is one photo near the end of this piece that depicts the correct aft pylon symbol and that was the two vertical lines indicating the 11th Battalion. God bless all who served. I loved the Blackcat video. I was in the 213th. from May 69 to Oct. 70 and it was a great outfit. I was a flight engineer on the '814' and during that time I visited every major base camp in III Corp, a few in IV Corp and countless fire-bases and LZ's , as well as the 1970 Cambodian Incursion.

Excuse me, this may seem random, but my father Charles Jackson served with the 203rd ASHC from November 1971 to October 1972. He passed away in 2008, I have been trying to find more detail about his time in Vietnam, but it's incredibly hard to find any info about the 203rd.

I was with the 213th in 1971 under Capt. Patterson and Major Berdux. I was a dispatcher and worked the night shift. The first three days we had incoming rockets. I thought holy crap, they lied when they said risk of dying in 'Nam was less than dying while driving a car. A new interactive museum has been build in S.C. re-enacting what it was like in Vietnam. Hope to see visit.

I am in this video at moment 5:31 I shared a hooch with Don {video maker} also hung out with Lee and can't remember some of the other guys in the video. Although I do see a guy we used to call Doc!! This video is somewhat haunting. Although we were not on the front lines we saw enough shit {flying} motor attacks, etc. Then to watch the video and see where you lived for a year is kinda weird. I guess we all try not to remember the crap we endured but it's something that will never leave you.

I remember the guy with the round sunglasses but can't recall his name. I roomed with him, Don. I'm the guy to the right left of the guy with the round sunglasses, sitting at the corner of the table. I got there in august of 71. about 4 or 5 mths. later I was transferred to Da Nang. and wound up in the 203rd ashc. I'm pretty sure that the 213th was done. They were disbanding units and sending troops home. I had less than 6mths in country and stayed. do you remember Gerry Perry?

I was with the 213th in PhuLoi from August 1968 thru Oct 1970. I started out in Maintenance then I told the CO that I was going to be there for over 2 years and wanted to work in the Engine Shop, so that's where I spent my time. There and working as a bar tender at the EM Club with Fuzz and Carl lol. I have tried to forget my tour as much as I can so I don't remember a lot of names. Anyone remember Sgt. Foster Sexton? He was a great guy and I hope to see him at the reunion. There is a 213th reunion in April 2015 that I was planning to go to. Hope to see some familiar Faces. 213thblackcats.com/reunions/reunion2015/index.php Skip Hainsworth

Hi Skip We shared a room before you left the Army. I was there when you and you uncle shaving creamed Tester. Tester was so pissed Fuzz didn't go back to their hooch for a week. I live in California now. I came out here in 74 because of Shaffer. He was the FNG that moved in about the time you left. He is the only one I know from the time in Viet Nam. We are as close as brothers. By the way I am Zhe.
