Tree Swallows are small, agile birds known for their iridescent blue-green upperparts and pure white underparts. They are often seen darting gracefully over fields and water bodies, catching insects in mid-air. These social birds nest in tree cavities or nest boxes, and their bubbly calls are a familiar sound in open habitats across North America. Tree Swallows are also notable for their long migrations, traveling from their breeding grounds in the northern United States and Canada to wintering areas in the southern United States, Mexico, and Central America.
