@@TinaHyde Dear friend💖 Sometimes I am surprised how I can see points that when I take my eyes off them I can no longer find them so easily. Marshal and Frio Point blended into the sand. This hunt was fantastic. It is very difficult to get to that place because there is no road for the car, we drive through it with the jeep until we reach it. We already returned to that area and again made great discoveries, next Monday I will show them. When we returned we arrived at a small place on the side of the road and there we relaxed, ate, rested and continued our journey home very happy. BLESSINGS TO YOU MY GREAT FRIEND 🌺🌞🌵

Coyote - you and friends found some beauties on the trip! The first point of milky quartz was very nice, but the second and several others were also very nice. Did you say that the large, brown point was made of sandstone? That would be strange material for a point, but it was really nice and big. Another great location for you to visit in the future.
@coyotearrowheadhunting30835 ай бұрын
.Hello my good friend. There were several very beautiful tips, worthy of being called smokers. That last brown tip is super beautiful, 100% smoker but the wind and sand were incredible at that time. I think that material was Hematite. Maybe there was confusion when I said that the wind blew a lot and the sand kicked up. Thank you for joining us and blessings always on your path.
@Howard-bj1jq5 ай бұрын
@@coyotearrowheadhunting3083 Coyote - here is how to tell if the point is hematite. First try to scratch (in a small area) with a pocket knife point. If the knife cannot scratch it, then it is sandstone or jasper or maybe a basalt like igneous rock. If it scratches, try rubbing the point on an unglazed coffee cup, maybe on the base. If it is hematite, there will be a reddish-brown streak. If so, definitely hematite! Easy!!! Works every time!

I can only think of the EXTREME climate change that took place in our past history, seeing shells piled up like that and all those arrowheads just reminds us of how different that area must have been, many hundreds or a few thousands of years ago. It would be interesting to know the previous geology of the place.

10,000 years ago there was a lot of vegetation, there was abundant rain and there was megafauna. 10,000 years ago the Clovis arrived but they could not withstand the climate changes. Their stay was short-lived, only groups that arrived later and managed to adapt to such difficult conditions survived. When the Spanish arrived they could not subdue the natives, they became extinct due to the diseases they brought, the natives were always nomadic until the last day of their existence.
