The rock quarries where the stone was found to make artifacts is some long distance from the beach. Thinning the stone to make the large knife using antler, bone and stone takes considerable time. Then the artifact had to be carried a long distance to where it was found. Was the knife left intentionally? Was it left with someone who died? Was it left with the intention of returning to this same location later? All we know is what the Jesuits wrote who said that the natives moved constantly never staying in one location for more than 3 days at a time. We are left with so many questions about these people. They were incredibly resourceful to have lived in this environment for thousands of years yet in less than 100 years they vanished.
@coyotearrowheadhunting30836 күн бұрын
Unfortunately they disappeared due to the terrible destruction to which they were subjected and the diseases that the Spanish brought. The natives of Baja California Sur were a clear example of adaptation and survival to nature, to the hostile environment they faced. Wow I get excited when I imagine a group of them doing their day and night activities on the shores of those dry lakes. Thanks for your reflections friend Arvil

@SeMoArtifactAdventures I already went to the friend site. That was almost certainly a paleo cache. The piece we found is of the same type. Great job, Senor. Thank you both! That San Bruno, was a heartbraker... It would have been, Fabulous! The transluscent pieces are magnificent! @coyotearrowheadhunting30835 күн бұрын
