I was caught up in this attempting to travel by train from London to Matlock then onto Bakewell. My train got held up due to lightning knocking out the signals then when we got to Burton-on-Trent we were advised to transfer to a bus. This was around 7:30pm and the storm picked up intensity as I travelled onwards by bus via Derby to Bakewell.

Interesting to hear of your experience, but sorry for the disruption. This would have been the area of storms that I was under in my 21st September part 2 video.

Thank you. Latest I have storm chased is October 23rd so fingers crossed I get at least one or two more chases in 🤞

That would be Oct 23rd 2022, remember it well. A big storm unexpectedly late in the season.
@supacellstormchasingАй бұрын
@CherylFrancis-fn1uf Yes, that was the one. I didn't do so well with it though. I went too far east and missed it.

I chased the storm passing eastern Stoke-on-Trent. That produced a few positive strikes. Caught up with it at Werrington before weekening with the odd flash. It was frequent lightning when i got to it but started to get less. A house in Longton was hit by lightning directly on the TV aerial causing severe damage.

There were some big CG lightning bolts I saw on the chase, unfortunately if they hit something then the something doesn't stand a chance. Glad you got to do a chase too 👍⚡️

I loved watching this. I bet the lightning and torrential rain were pretty impressive on radar!
@supacellstormchasingАй бұрын
It did look intense on the radar. I don't think I ever got into the very heaviest part where I believe there was quite a bit of hail falling.
@zoeschofieldАй бұрын
It certainly was a deluge! Difficult to drive through @@supacellstormchasing

Really enjoying these videos, but do you have a mike? It's very hard to hear what you're saying over the noise of the rain
@supacellstormchasingАй бұрын
True, I am somewhat drowned out. I don't have a mic I'm afraid. Although I'm looking at getting new recording equipment for next year's season, so I mic would be a good buy I think.
