If I wanted to break into your shed I would just take My two meter crow bar and get straight into that window or your door. The only real thing that will put a potential break int would be the environment the shed sits, as the view from windows and any lights will deter most break ins. Also an alarm would work, but frankly the more obvious effort you put into locming a shed the more the thief will believe there must be something in there thats valuable. At the allotment site its always the sheds with visible padlocks that get broken into first.

Hi there. Realistically, all sheds can be broken into as well as houses etc. There is simply no way to make structures like these thief proof. However, you can have layers of protection, such as, sturdy build, decent locks, alarm, lighting and cctv - all of which are present at my home. A dog would also be an excellent early warning too. Then of course, a thief would have to get by me. Good luck with that one! ATB, Des

I think you'd have been better off fitting a normal front door five lever mortice deadlock with handle latch. Your door is plenty thick enough, which is the normal reason for not fitting them to sheds. It would give it a much more solid locked feel, not encouraging the scrotes to think they might be able to kick it in.

Hi there buddy. On reflection this may have been a better idea actually. Didn' t think of it at the time. Mental note made. Thanks for constructive feedback. Stay safe. Des

Yep, I could easily and quietly break into that wine with a crow bar and rip those bolt locked straight out of the wood. The weakest part of those locks is the scraws, they are tini and have zero strength and will rip right out of wood leaving the bold still in place. Those bolt locks ars not security locks.

Decent that mate but surely any little scroat who wants to get in will just smash the window ? Im currently building a 16ft x 8ft x 8ft shed and i dont think i am going to bother putting any Windows in tbh.See you in part 21

Hiya buddy. The window is going to be very hard to smash and is virtually indestructible. It is made of 6mm / 1/4 " polycarbonate. It's fair to say that with time and effort it can be done but by that time getting in thro' the window will be the least of their problems. That's when I'll introduce myself ;?)

No its plastic window but a crow bar will easily break into that window in about 3 minutes.
