Nice info video mate but you are spoilt in USA over here in Ireland 100 VMax 50 gr heads $31.00 1lb tub RL15 $52.00 and they are banning the sale of target powder this year . And I don't know about freedom rain all we get is the rain part . Keep on shooting man great vids

Try either IMR 3031 or IMR 4064 Both are excellent Powders for the 22/250 with Bullets in the 50 --55 GR's Great Varmint loads also thanks for sharing etc

Most accurate loads I ever had was R15 with NBT 55grain I found Varget was awful in my gun in both 22-250 and 308

I always had good luck with imr 4064 with that bullet, I forget the charge i used but shot 1/4" groups pretty consistently

50 gr vmax and varget is my pet load in my savage predator in 22-250.

Have shot Varget, imr4064 H380 IMR 4895 best group and CFE223 which was 2nd best group. Have started to load some RL15 will see how that goes. Try IMR4895 it may surprise you it did me. 36.3g Norma cases & CCI LR PRIMERS, COL was 2.355, 50g VMAX. CFE223 - 37.5g, 52g match, Norma cases & CCI LR, COL 2355.

Mine shot best at 34.9 gr Varget, 5 shot group at 100 yards. Accuracy was .236" a 100 yards.

Sir, have you tried the Satter Lee Method for finding the optimum load for a bullet and powder charge. Every time I've tired it it hasn't failed. I've done it with two 223 (Ruger and Kimber), 6.5 CM,, and have plans to do it with 270 Win, Soon to be 22-250. Shooting 20 rounds vs 50 rounds is whole lot cheaper Your gun is showing a good promise with the Varget. One other thing. Have you decided on what Boyd'd stock you are going to go with?

What distance do you shoot at for the Sater Lee load testing? I heard you need to shoot at longer distances to better see the vertical dispersion. Also, after you find a velocity node, what do you do next? Most of the videos I have seen don’t go further than finding some nodes to test out. I assume you then go back to loading and shooting groups. I haven’t picked out which stock yet, but I am leaning towards the Pro Varmint. Thanks for watching!

@@dgunnut6550 I just set a target at 25 to 50 yds. Shoot through a chronograph. and look for the velocity node(s) My 6.5 CM had 3 nodes. with RL17 with 140gr HPBT. Both of 233 only had one node with TAC powder and 50gr V-Max.. After you found the node Go back look up load data that gave the best velocity node, and Load up 5 rounds with that data and shoot for a group @ 100yds. If looks good. then start playing with bullet seating depths to further tighten up the group. Just remember the Satter Lee should done anytime there is change of powder or bullets. Hope helps One other thing I learned years ago velocity is not accuracy. Best luck to ya. RH

Just started loading the 22-250 the powder takes a lot of the case when you seat the bullet it seems to almost touch the powder

Good shooting! Is that rifle a 1 in 14 twist? I just picked up a selection of bullets from 50 to 55 grains for my .22-250 and plan to do some loading later today. Unfortunately I am almost out of both Varget and Reloder 15, so I was planning to start with IMR 4064 and H380. Have you tried either of those powders?

Thanks! It’s a 1 in 12” twist barrel. I have had very good success with H380 and those weight bullets. Check out my videos on it if you want more info.

I have watched several of your videos. Solid information, but it always seems like I am out of whatever powder is being demonstrated. LOL. I need to pick up some more Reloder 15, as that seems to be a very good powder for my two primary rifle calibers, .243 Winchester and .22-250 Remington. @@dgunnut6550

8626John Thanks for the positive feedback! I do like RL15 as it has shot well for me in .223, .22-250, and .243. However, I know it is temperature sensitive so I have been doing some more reloading with Varget to see if it will shoot as good and replace RL15 for me as the got to powder in these calibers. I have had better luck with IMR-4064 than with Varget, at least in my rifles. You might give that a try some time.

Don't forget different PRIMERS ,CAN effect accuracy. Amazing, guys seam to to forget that BIG part.. they tell powder and bullet, some evn mention TWIST. But, a real pro understands PRIMERS AREaalso important.

I have had better luck in my 223 with the 60gr Vmax. I have heard that they also work well in the 22-250.

I have also had good luck with the 60 gr. V-max in my 5.56 AR.

H4895 is where its at with that light of a pill in the 22-250. Mine love the 50gr v-max. However, the 53 is better. You should also tighten the tension on that bi-pod. Nothing wrong with using it how you are, but it's way too wobbly. Your 12FV is a great rifle and capable of much better precision. Your ES and SD numbers mean absolutely nothing until you start shooting that thing properly and developing good loads. Put the numbers away and focus on your shooting and let the rifle tell you what it likes. Or keep doing as you are and not learn anything..
