Keeping the property secure is one thing newcomers may not consider. If you can’t see the borders of your property, it’s (more) at risk. Some country folk think other people’s land is meant to be their dumping ground.

You are absolutely correct! We forgot to mention that.... very important !!! Our property was already fenced on 3 sides when we purchased. Thanks for the reminder and thanks for watching!

Congratulations on paying off the property BEFORE making any improvements. I watch a lot of homesteaders, and most of them pay as they go. I totally get the "don't depend on the government" idea. Keep up the hard work. You guys are fun to watch.

Is that water year round running? If it is that right theres the answer to a lot of problems. You could even set up a water turbine for free electricity. I think ya'll got a good deal, thats a nice big piece of property. I would like to see a video of you guys walking the entire property. Are you guys planning on moving out there for good at some point? The reason I ask is that they openly say in the event of any martial law situation or emergency, one of the first things they will do is stop travel so bugging out wont be an option when people need to and the last place you wanna be is stuck at a military roadblock with a bunch of unprepared people.
@7sigmaoff-grid4 ай бұрын
I wish it was year round! That stream flows when there is heavy rain, which is not common. We do have a spring at the far rear of the property. I plan to figure out a way to plumb and collect that water source eventually, but it's goin to be a PITA cause it's at the bottom of a steep slope further back into the mountain. Yes Sir, we plan on doing a video walking the entire property in the fall when it cools down (105 degrees today). We plan on being here full time very soon! You are absolutely correct regarding bugging out...we mapped out and travelled several ways to get to the property and a couple of them are very rural and definitely off the beaten path. The worst place to be during a SHTF event is stuck in traffic or near a bunch of people...
@BillyBlaze74 ай бұрын
@@7sigmaoff-grid cool, yeah better to do the walk around video in the cooler weather for comfort and safety (snakes). A spring would be fantastic, fresh clean water already filtered and cool. I have the same situation, I have a dry creek on my property, pretty much useless to me

@stevelawrence89454 ай бұрын
Great Video. Setting up deep raised garden beds would be a good investment. Mine are built with dry-stacked cinder blocks without mortar. Three blocks high is deep enough. Also, having several dump truck loads of quality real top soil harvested out of a farmers field is another very expensive but wise investment. The beds will serve you for many years if you "freshen" them up with various soil amendments, fertilizers and minerals every year. You will not ever recoup this substantial financial investment in vegetables, but you will be able to grow about half of your own food ......if you work hard at it and preserve what you don't consume fresh. Good luck. Steve , A Frustrated Gardener on about 4 acres in very rural Mississippi.

@@7sigmaoff-grid do you have to have an occupancy permitt? I'm worried about this stuff if I buy land. Won't be able to do what I want. And will be too expensive at the end.

@@nancynancy8986 check the county website where you intend to buy land. They should have all the info you need regarding permits and zoning.

IF you can! You should build a very sturdy “survival shelter” into a hillside. Build it as a “Bunker” and stock it accordingly. I don’t want to talk bad about your state, but your present administration Is so Socialistic it makes one 😭. Stay strong, realize only YOU can keep you safe and have what you need to survive unassisted on hand. Love you guys and may God guide your journey.
