You are my teacher. You have a godgift to teach complicated concept to students. I'm CCNA but confuse VLSM until watching this your video. God blesses you stay healthy. Thank you so much.

WooHoo! That was a pretty good refresher quiz (for me!). Thanks! 👍👍 Looks like I can still do VLSM with the best of them! 😁

Great Video! 1st of all and Thank You. I get caught up sometimes on counting the host bits starting with the 2 ^0 value 1st rather than starting at the 2^1 value giving you two hosts. Is there any main principles or ways to help remember that and distinguish between thoses counts?

Question: Why did you not use a /31 mask for the point-to-point connections?

VLSM: Do you have any videos where you do reverse VLSM? Example: You go from 8 subnets to 2 subnets?

This is awesome. So how may videos do you have in this series on subnetting. I want to go through the whole series.
@danscourses3 жыл бұрын
Hey Robert! I will need to count and maybe make a playlist for just that. I have made a lot of new videos on subnetting and I have lots of older ones too. As you know.

Thanks Dan. Quick question, is the network block class B Or class C?
@danscourses6 ай бұрын
the number 172 indicates Class B however this is classless addressing because our subnet masks are not restricted to /8, /16, and /24. So speaking about class doesn't apply with VLSM

Hi so its always 2 hosts between the routerd if its not listed? Because i saw one where there was network ABCD with host but EFG that was between the routers had nothing
@danscourses5 ай бұрын
Depends on the requirements of the network or the question.
@descobra54625 ай бұрын
@@danscourses is it possible for me to post the link of the exercise for to see? Cause i am bit confused of why they used 2 hosts
@danscourses5 ай бұрын
@@descobra5462 is it two usable hosts /30 or or two hosts period /31?
@danscourses5 ай бұрын
I have been informed that with serial connections ISPs will use /31 subnet masks. Which seems weird to me because that is only a network address and a broadcast address but in a point to point serial network I was told it does not matter. Probably not you situation though

How can you avoid waste alot of host space when configureing 100 + 55 it is a bit difficult without wasting alot of host space. And should you always start with the largest network first?
@foxxrider250r2 жыл бұрын
Yes start with the largest always
