Great list. I was born in 1970 so the 80's were my coming of age years. Taking breakdancing lessons at the YMCA. To add to the parachute pants there was Puma sneakers with fat laces, The Moonwalk, BoomBoxes and carrying a large piece of cardboard around with you. Arcades were everywhere, Half shirts, Rat Tails/Mullet cuts, Tight rolling the cuffs of your jeans, Reebok 3/4 sneakers that laced and had the two velcro straps at the top, Z Cavaricci Pants and Jackets, Layered Slouch Socks, Obsession, Polo, Drakkar, Poison, Vuarnet and Gargoyle sunglasses, Everyone wanted an Alpine stereo in their car, The Mustang 5.0 and the Iroc Z were the desired cruiser or a classic muscle car. Putting lift kits on your pickup became popular, The 80's also seemed to be the last years of Dance Clubs being common everywhere. Hard Rock Cafe went global in 1982, It was a great time to be a teenager.

Guess Jackets, Coca Cola shirts? I loved my Jams! I would rock a pair of Kswiss and a white Polo, or a college logo sweatshirt! Spiked hair and a splash of Polo cologne with that iconic green bottle with the gold lid. Before you left the house you grabbed your Rayban style sunglasses then check your look one more time in the mirror before you left the house. Wanted to make sure that your bi level was spiked up in the front and that you had the party going on in the back 😂 I would drive, or my buds Scott or Kell would drive but either way we would all pitch in on gas which was .69 cents a gallon so a dollar per person was enough to cruise McDonalds along with a hundred other teens cruising blasting the radio or a tape with the coolest music playing. Stopping and talking to the ladies and acting cool as hell 😂 End the night over at one of our houses hanging out, talking to girls on the phone, watching MTV, or a movie on HBO. Wake up the next day, check in at home, make a few calls, and just live a wonderful teen life all over again. Ty for sharing this video! Croc clogs are great indoor shoes... My late dad even wore them when he showered. To avoid infections to his cracked dry skin heels. He had 3 pairs. In different colours. They're easy to clean, and easy to slip on and off... Great invention !

Biggest difference as a child 70s and 80s was we spent most our free time out playing , Interacting with other kids and using both Imagination and energy running about. Not Inside staring at a screen all day. So many great memories of being out exploring the world with friends and sibling’s .
They're still sold in gift stores today, but yeah, everyone had to have one back in the 70's

I remember someone in high school, I think in 87 or 88, brought a 'boom box' with a CD player.. holy chiznizzle that was awesome!!! I wanted a cd player so bad after that. it was amazingly clear sounding. I had a really compact toshiba cassette player with dolby 2 noise reduction, that cost a small fortune and it was pretty cool, but that cd player was a dream and out of reach cost wise for me at the time.

Other forgotten fads. Super large tees that people would tie knots in the hem. It became such a trend that there were plastic doodads you could thread the corners of your massive t shirt in and it held better than the knot Friendship Pins. They were saftey pins with beads on them which we exchanged with our friends. We wore them by threading them on our shoelaces Big bow barrettes. I had half a dozen of them long before the Siwa abomination. Noxema was the best way to clean your skin. The smell is 8th grade forever. The pacman game watch. They give games like that out for free, but back in the 80s it was expensive and a big deal. The Speak and Spell. I used to continually make it say P, because it sounded so weird. Little stuffed animal clips. You could attach them to your jacket or anything you wanted., though I think they were supposed to go on pens. The Garfield Plush toy with suction cups you stuck to your back car window. The baby on board signs Sweet Valley High books. All the middle school girls were reading them Freezie Freakies - color change snow gloves and lets not forget how snow boots evolved I remember it ALL

We had slap bracelets in Germany in the 90's. Always took a while before stuff from the States finally made their way to Europe. 😅(So glad to see you're using scenes and screenshots from "Stranger Things". Just proves how much the makers of the show watched out for details.) Swatches we had, because they came from Switzerland. Scrunchies... yeah! I remember those. AND mood rings. Stupid things were always made of cheap metal, though. Gave you green and black fingers - that is, IF they survived the water when washing your hands. Zubas pants I remember mostly because my mother sewed her own at some point. But as I said before, some of those items I remember more from the end of the 80's, early 90's. Rubics cube... argh! Oh, yes! Rollerskates I remember. I still had a pair that you could put on the shoes you wore. You needed a key to adjust them. And of course, I remember the walkman. Dang, I couldn't live without mine anymore after I got one for my birthday. Having had English TV in Germany for a couple of years, I do remember the TV ads of some of the items on this list, even if I didn't actually HAVE them - like the Clapper and the Pogo-ball. It was so nice to watch this. Not only was this an enjoyable walk on memory lane, it was also very informative in regards of those things I DIDN'T know existed. Thanks for that! 💜

The View Masters are not captured well through the commercials. I remember getting some slides from Sea World San Diego and the 3D effect was f***ing INSANE. It looked so real, so completely 3D and to see the animals like that up close was breathtaking, corny as that sounds. I remember my friend down the road looked at them completely silent. Afterward she whispered, "That . . . was . . . Magic".
