This score for me was the defining one in Mass Effect, it captured the perfect feel that Mass Effect 1 emulates, That being one of an interesting space adventure set in a vast universe with a dark secret. Noveria had the perfect feel to it. While ME2 and 3 have some great scores and atmospheres, neither of them have been able to live up to the feeling I felt the first time I landed on Noveria.

Of course it wouldn't live up to the first time. Repeats of any stimulus turn it from new and novel to expected and acclimated to.

When I play Mass Effect and am on Noveria, I turn the A/C very cold, or open the windows and let the cold in. I love to feel the bite of the cold air. I enjoy the immersion.

A crippling amount of corruption in a base in the middle of nowhere with THIS soundtrack playing as you snuck your way through guarded offices. Then you took a mako through a blizzard on the side of a cliff covered with Geth to get to Platform 15 which had an almost horror feeling to it as you fought your way through Rachni. Chills.

This soundtrack just oozes charisma. So many nostalgic feelings to listening to this. Noveria was my favorite mission in ME1 because it was huge filled with good quests. The 80's sci-fi vibes are real (or future vibes?).

Lots of good vibes, and I love the Zen nature of the water falls with steam on the rocks. A place like Noveria would have Bonsai trees too, I would guess. Another great point would be the glass walls. I could not even begin to imagine the heating bill in a place like Port Hanshan.

Playing this as I am about to start the final mission of ME3... This is the song that came to my mind first. Leaving my squad and Shephard behind. This triology was one hell of a ride.... The best.

Funniest thing is, when i played this on my xbox 360 in december 2007 there was a somewhat big snowstorm here in Finland. Noveria theme is engraved to my memory as a dark winter december theme

What I love about Noveria's theme is that it's nostalgic for me, because it sounds like classic PS1 Spyro game music to me. One of Virmire's theme tracks is like that too.
