Regarding the fact that Kach got 0.3% in 73 and 81, 12-15 seats are a pretty good result. Kahane had the opportunity to join Gahal. After he made Aliyah he was offered a save seat. He then asked whether he would be allowed to say what he wished to and the response was no because of party discipline. Even after he was disqualified in 88 he didn´t join Likud but rather worked on a referendum. Certainly we need to go all the way but by convincing the people.

Yes, 12-15 seats is an amazing result. But they'd still be in the opposition. Yes, Rav Kahane refused to join Gahal (and later Likud). Maybe it was the right move at the time, I don't know. It certainly isn't the right move now. His initial plan was to make it impossible for Likud to form a coalition without him, and thus force certain conditions from them. He was wrong. He then realized he must aim to become PM, but via Kach party. I believe he was mistaken. Tactically Likud is the best venue.

Kach showed you can't. Rav Kahane said so himself. Kach was slated to get 12-15 seats. And Likud and Labor would have formed a unity gov't. Then Kach wold have gotten 20 seats. But they'd still be in the opposition. His conclusion was we need to go all the way to a majority & take power. Feiglin further realized that that's impossible with a nationalist/religious party to the right of Likud. Which brings me to Bennet. He's got more influence than Feiglin... Now. But that's as far as he can go.

I don´t think so. The story of Likud/ Herut shows us that you can indeed take over if you try long and hard enough, even though your rival seems to be overwhelming. In the Likud leadership election, 2012 Feiglin lost and now the leader of Likud agreed to "peace talks" and is ready to establish a Palestinian state. So anybody who voted Likud because of Feiglin wasted his vote.

As for the wasted vote, I could say the same for anyone who voted for any of the other parties, because they're impotent to do anything about it. Sry but Bibi´s views are Likud´s. I mean he got 77% in the primary. Plus, while Likud´s position towards a two-state solution remains unclear, it always supported equal rights for all inhabitants of Israel. Feiglin is clearly asking for something else. Certainly more then Feiglin with 1.

If you are trying to say that 77% of Likud members vote because of egoistic power interests, then this is even less of a reason to support such a party. Why do you keep insisting that this is the only way? Did Begin join Mapai in 1948 when it was much more powerful than Likud is today? As I said if more than 1% of the population voted Likud because of Feiglin then they wasted their vote, since they have 1 seat. Your plan is to turn Likud into a Knesset, but why not going strayed to the Knesset?

You may do so once or twice but you can hardly to that every time, while Feiglin´s views contradict Likud´s almost totally. More important, let´s imagine that 10% of the population support Feiglin. Now those 10% go and vote Likud because of Feiglin. However Likud has 31 seats and out of those 31 nobody has Feiglin´s opinion. That would mean that 10% are represented by 1 seat. But if those 10% voted Otzma then they would be represented by 12 seats since every member has the same opinion.

Bad analogy. Mapai in 51 is more analogous to Labor/Kadima today. The nationalist public then was not Mapai. Begin couldn't reach them through Mapai. The nationalist public today is (by and large) Likud. They are reachable. Nevertheless, Begin did realize in 73 what he should have in 51. Herut alone couldn't do it. Faith, doesn't mean you can't analyze past experience and improve your tactics. Bennet has more influence, but he too is impotent against another expulsion. We need to take power.

Any Knesset member can vote any way he/she likes. Party discipline only applies to Ministers, and even they are not absolutely bound. It only means they'll loose their Ministerial position if they vote contrary to the Cabinet, and that too is at the PM's discretion. Anyway, Otzma - even if they got 20 or even 30 seats - would still be impotent against the leftists within Likud combined with the other leftist parties. The objective is to take power. That can only be achieved from within Likud.

I know that Mapai was a socialist party. But as I understood your argument you sad that it is necessary to join Likud since it is the governing and strongest party right now. Well if Bennet has more influence and is still impotenet how much more impotent is Feiglin? Certainly we have to. But this has to be done by persuading the people. You are right the media is totally bias, however Kach showed how you can do it. They had 2 rallies a night and made a tremendous impact.

I´m sure that if we would have this conservation in 1951 when Herut got just 8 seats, you would also tell me to join Mapai since it is the only way because no party managed to beat them since 1925. Well as I sad Begin did not join Mapai, but he won eventually. C´mon where is your faith? Without faith the right wing would have capitulated long ago. Who has more influence today Feiglin who joined or Bennett who left Likud? Bennett can force Bibi to make huge concessions while Feiglin is powerless.

I'm not saying they voted for Bibi for egoistic power interests. There are many reasons that have nothing to do with common ideology: name recognition; he can handle the Americans; he's more electable; media hype. You keep talking of supporting Likud. I'm talking about taking it over. It is the only way because no other party has ever succeeded in breaking Likud & Labor's strong hold (Kadima is a complicated exception).
