Thanks for the video guys! I always wondered what this round could do with a full length barrel! One small tip though… Your accuracy will improve dramatically if you don’t rest your barrel on the shooting stick it will improve your barrel harmonics.

After adding seven handguns chambered in .22TCM/9R to my collection during the last year I finally decided it was time to add the BA rifle so I just ordered the polymer stocked version while Bud's has them in stock - which isn't often. Also, the bolt rifle has a stronger, fully locked breech action for testing hand loads. If a manufacturer wants a sure-fire hit all they need to do is come out with a semiauto version along the lines of The Ruger 9mm carbine, or a M1 Carbine. They'd sell every one they can build.

people also tend to forget that 5.56 won't fit in a 1911 frame it's an inch longer and also no 5.56 out of a 16 inch barrel is not doing anywhere near 3600 FPS more like 2900-3100 for 55 grain and 2800 for 62 grain out of a 20 inch barrel that's not a massive difference when you compare at the same barrel length 40 gr going 2800 vs 55gr going 2850

You’re exactly right. Why would you need this rifle when 223 rds come in a huge menu of velocities, weights and purposes. And cheaper ammo, and for instance a Ruger American bolt action in 223 is less that $400 maybe can be found at $350 and is probably more accurate. With optic mounts as well. I have a 5.7x28 a PS90 and a 22 tcm 1911 in the double stack magazine, the tcm barrel and spring have been in the box after two weeks of shooting it. It’s been a double stack 9mm for the last 4 yrs. and in the safe the whole time. I like the 57 way better for carry due to weight, capacity and loaded with elite ammunition’s penetrator rds it’s easily equal to the tcm in velocity with better lethality. Doesn’t seem to have any traits that aren’t unique or superior, so does anyone need another caliber to stock ammo for, especially one this obscure???

@@richardwaid4718 - I can carry 500 rounds of 22TCM just in the cargo pockets of my trousers. Imagine being able to pack out a few thousand rounds of ammo that fits my rifle and my pistol. I chronographed the 57x28 (fn blue tip and American Eagle) out of my fn57 and got 1700fps from the fn and 1650 from the AE) while the 22tcm averaged over 2000 fps that probably equates to 2800-2900 out of a 22 Tcm rifle. When the rifles showed up I wanted be but never pulled the trigger. If I can find some 22tcm dies I’ll probably get the rifle. Definitely would make a great hog gun.

Finally found a 22 TCM 1911 after looking for a year and a half. What happened? I have 3 firearms in 5.7 x 28mm and have been wanting one in the 22 TCM badly. I reload for both calibers. I have to say I like the 22 TCM better than the 5.7 for a variety of reasons. !. Easier to load. Holds more powder making it a hotter cartridge. I get 2150 out of my 1911 without any pressure signs. It's a nice soft shooter. It weighs more than any traditional 1911 because of the small bore barrel having more steel. I like my DBX 57 the most out of my other 3 firearms. I get about the same velocity with the 8" barrel. The TCM cases are sturdier whereas the 5.7 cases are harder to size without damaging the base.

I'm quite sure it would be far less expensive to purchase separate platforms in both these calibers than to have a custom barrel made and fitted or to have your rifle re-barreled. Firearms in these calibers are not particularly expensive or impossible to find, so why go through the trouble of rebarreling? For what purpose? Not to mention that I already mentioned to you that I now own both Tokarev and RIA 22TCM firearms and I would not want to re-barrel any of my firearms into a different caliber than their original calibers. I only mentioned in my comment that 22TCM looks like a miniature 7.62x25, I don't know why you perceived that I would be interested in the suggestion of re-barreling my firearms, which I am not. They said they knew about this and at the time didn't know whether it was the cartridge or the rifle. Your group seemed better than what I had seen at the time. Does anyone know if the problems have been corrected? 2) The mounted scope seemed very high with that mount. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Very impressive ballistics though. 22 Hornet worthy. Listed velocity is 2800 with a 40sp I can get about 3000 with my hornet with the same bullet I'm gonna buy one of these just to see if I can get it up to my hornet loads then do some hunting with both to see how they perform what's the twist rate

If you want to step up in scope yes the mount is needed I got mine mounted with a .22 BSA special for 22 mag nice fit it was. Works good. However the info is awesome!!!! great work on your behalf..and yes i am looking at a better scope nothing wrong with that BSA Special at all I want to stretch it out See how Far She`ll touch with effectiveness. BSA has been great at short range work that is for me 300 yards or less. At 2800 FPS 300 yards no challenge for the Rifle yes good enough for the shooter not so much on what the rifle can produce. I think this little 22 can effectively, consistently and accurately hit at 600 yards if not more. That is just me might be delusional but I have to try

I have not cared for the 22TCM as a pistol round as it appeared useless beyond a paper punching toy. Now I see a use. A 2700 Fps 45 grain bullet out of 16 inch barrel matches a 22 Hornet out of a 20 inch barrel. A plus I understand is the brass is based on the 9 MM Luger which is much more available than Hornet for reloading. Please tell me I can reform 9 MM into 22TCM. Ground squirrels are doomed inside of 200 yards.
@RU2AIM4 жыл бұрын
At that speed a 300yd shot isn't asking too much for taking something the size of a Ground Squirrel.
@rancidpitts82434 жыл бұрын
@@RU2AIM At the same speed and weight bullet out of a 22 Hornet is only considered to be a 150 to an extreme of 200 yard range round. The ballistics of that weight bullet (45 Gr.) sheds velocity rapidly thus dropping sharply. I will correct myself in believing that I could make 22TCM brass out of plentiful 9MM brass by now stating it is .223 Remington that I can use. 22 Hornet brass is made in small batched once a year. .223 Rem. is made in huge batches daily.
@RU2AIM4 жыл бұрын
@@rancidpitts8243 I shoot a .22LR 200m out of a 6.625" barrel and shatter clay pigeons, I doubt the TCM wouldn't '50% better that' and do so with enough power to take a smallish rodent.
@rancidpitts82434 жыл бұрын
@@RU2AIM The 22 rd will kill small rodents out to 500 yd/m +. What I prefer is an instant kill, not a long painful death 10's of minutes after being shot. Perhaps it goes back to being a soldier for 26 years. I would rather be killed quickly than suffer for hours or days before I died. I would care to extend that courtesy to a pest or battlefield enemy. It is just my way.

Harmonics are screwed up when resting the barrel on a tripod. Rifle barrels are meant to be free floating for a reason. If you zero it that way, it'll be all over the place for the shooter who actually does it correctly. I wouldn't have my wife shooting my hunting rifle flinching in anticipation either and expect people to take the review seriously. In the Army, our M24s utilize a fixed bipod which is way better for accuracy. Sorry but I'll need to watch someone else review this.

And I suppose it's nice to have a pistol and rifle in the same caliber I agree. But my plane old 2 23 which they have mountains of ammunition for I don't know what do you think
@Razorbackoperator5 жыл бұрын
True but you can't stuff 20 rounds of .223 into the pistol grip of a Glock 17, or CZ 75B converted to .22TCM9R now can you! And the pistol versions of .22TCM/9R aren't exactly delivering shabby numbers either! Factory ammo generally exceeds 2,000 fps from 5" 1911 barrels and my own hand loads have clocked as high as 2,067 fps from a 4.5" CZ 75B TCM9R conversion barrel firing my own 5.56x24! I've had 33 grain Speer JHP go 2,174 fps from the same 4.5" barrel- same 5.56x24. Also, every fired .223 case you have is future .22TCM/5.56x24 case if so choose!

I like the TCM for a pistol, but for a rifle, it doesn't have the same allure for me. I have a 5.56 that is higher in velocity with a heavier bullet and the ammo costs less. I also have a .17HMR with similar performance or the .17 WMR that is a lot more potent. The .22TCM/9mm combination 1911 pistol is a great offering and I would like one, just not the bolt action rifle. If it was offered in a carbine or lever action it may be something I would consider.

This is the Philippines, the home of the Armscor 22 TCM. It's a big deal to us Filipinos since our government has banned the .223 and 5.56 from civilian use and authorizes it only for police and military. .22 TCM is the hottest round we can get in the Philippines. So what's the use of a .223 if we can't get it?
