Just discovered your channel yesterday and am addicted to watching them. I’m a 65-year old grandma to two boys and I love watching Lego Maters. Q. What makes them “illegal” Lego videos? Q. How many total pieces do you think you have? Q. Where do you buy yours? Q. Why do you wear cotton gloves in some? I would think it makes them more slippery and easy to drop pieces. Thanks for your ingenuity and time. Anita
@impressedeyes801 Жыл бұрын
Although you might expect an answer from him, I can answer the first question if you don't mind. It'a considered "illegal" constructions because you aren't supposed to bend the pieces, and that is why it's considered illegal. If you check all the Lego sets, you will never find that it bends. Cheers!
@sproutsprite9 ай бұрын
i think the cotton gloves are either to protect their hands (lego is pointy!) or keep the lego from getting grimy
@froidesprit9 ай бұрын
An illegal build is a brick placement that Lego bricks weren't meant to be used in. Bending is one example, but any situation where the bricks can be potentially damaged by the build is considered illegal. the Lego company has strict guidelines for set designers telling them what they can and can't do in official builds, and it's the breaking of these internal rules that makes a build illegal. Any set with an illegal placement isn't allowed to be sold.

I know the answer the ones besides the second, but I doubt even he knows the answer to the second. I lost track a long time ago, and I have nowhere near the amount he has. 1: it’s not actually illegal. It’s a metaphor meaning that the legos are being moved/bent in a way that they aren’t normally 2: based off of just what he has shown in his videos, probably nearing 100k, if not more 3: online is best since you can buy huge stock, but there are Lego stores in most big malls, any random store with a kids toy section probably has them, and some people resell them by color at a lower price then they originally are (although you need to make sure they are actually Lego brand, which you can tell by looking at the top of the stud, which should have the word Lego, and a trademark sign) 4: protect his hands, and keep the legos from getting dirty. In addition he can get a softer touch for some things Hope this helped even though it was a year after your comment 😅

Ah, the pre-gloves days. On reflection, you should always wear gloves for these videos. Seeing your fleshy fingers is a reminder that you’re human, and that as such I, too, should be capable of performing such godly feats as these. Alas, I cannot. Praise the gloves. (Awesome compilation, btw.)
