22 Win Streak! Amazing Great League Team | Route to Legend Rank Pokémon Go Battle League PVP

I had a crazy win streak in Great League this weekend! In my efforts to practice with some of the strongest pokemon for great league in Go Battle League, I came up with a team that doesn't just kick some serious butt in GBL but took me on a 22 game win streak. Which incidentally is my longest run of wins I've ever had in GBL beating my previous record of 19. This win streak gained me around 300 ELO points and shot me from around 2170 ELO all the way upto 2470. Considering how early it is in the season it's no joke to climb that high and fast against top tier teams and battlers.
The team is by no measure spicy but if you want a strong team that is going to get you wins this is the one for you. I wanted to build a team around Shadow Poliwrath and Charjabug, both of these mons are top tier in both GBL and the choose 6 pick 3 competitve formats used in tournaments and since I'm entering regionals in Liverpool next month I deciced I needed practice with these mons to better understand their gameplay. I opted to put both of them in the back as they both make versatile swaps and strong closers. On the lead I've opted for Greedent for its bulk, versatility and fact that it isn't weak to Wigglytuff in the same way that Lickitung, Snorlax and versatile other lick users are. But these mons would make a fine replacement assuming you're not running into said Wigglytuffs very often (I only saw 1).
I do recommend this team, I'm fairly confident in saying it is one of the strongest Great League teams you can build right now if not THE strongest.

Had some trouble since end of fantasy cup. Just ran this for a few sets with regular Poli and gone 13-2. Poli still better than Annihilape. Good luck at Liverpool.

At 24:10 you used Discharge instead of X-Scissor (and I noticed it somewhere else in the video as well). After they buffed X-Scissor, it now has 65 base power, which is the same base power as Discharge. In neutral scenarios, such as against Lanturn, you should always use X-Scissor because it is more energy efficient. Also, because Volt Switch generates 16 energy and two X-Scissors cost 80, this makes the count for X-Scissor 3 - 2 - 3 - 2, whereas Discharge will end up requiring an entire extra Volt Switch for your next charge move.

X scissor does 45 dmg, atleast that's what it says in the game

You're absolutely right! I need to update my graphic for it too I forgot it's now the same damage as Discharge for less energy. Even during all these battles I had it in my head that Discharge was hitting slightly harder than X-scissor. In Neutral matchups always be throwing X-scissor! One of the reasons I definitely need to be practicing more with these pokes before Liverpool 😬

Honestly regular Poliwrath will still do really well, it will mean you have less pressure to shield in a few situations which is always nice. Overall I think the shadow is a little better especially when used as a safe swap but it doesnt make the biggest difference. The main matchup that comes to my mind is Sableye. The Scald adds alot more pressure to Sableye to shield in that situation otherwise you can counter them down, whereas for regular Poliwrath you'd want to go for 2 Icy Winds probably instead.

I just built this team but I don’t have a shadow Poli. I lost 4 out of 5 games on my first set but I am also no where as good as you are. I feel like as close as some of your games were that I won’t be able to be effective with a non shadow Poli. What are your thoughts please ? I’m not surprised I lost 4 on first set because it always takes me a while to get used to a new team.

I dont usually like try hard teams either. I like the team a lot. Ive been having fun with trailblaze greedant. Anyway, its ok to use try hards when its triple dust. In my opinion.

Yep you can use regular Poliwrath, few of the matchups will play out a little differently if you do but regular Poliwrath is still really strong!
