Me and sunny did research together at Stanford CSAIL, I learned more just watching him program than I did in 2 internships. Super chill dude too

I really am taking a liking to your new "podcast" style videos. however, after watching this one as well as the one with your brother, it seems that although they did work hard to get to the positions/jobs they are in now, they were always naturally academically and/or mathematically gifted (for example, your brother was valedictorian, and sunny is no doubt a math prodigy). to see an an incredibly hard worker with average intelligence get into these positions would be nice for a change. would love to see this kind of person on the podcast if you have any in mind Anyways, love this episode! were your thumbnails inspired by "Diary of a CEO"?

podcasts like that don't exist because that simply doesn't happen unless there is some nepotism at play or something of that nature. the whole point of these extremely competitive and limited positions is that they are selecting for the most fabulously intelligent candidates in the world.

Even if you're not mathematically gifted, you can always talk high level math courses.

Incredible to see someone prioritize their passion over a huge offer. Truly inspiring!

It is amazing to see how many opportunities high schoolers have that were not available in my 1980s high school years. Back then programming was a niche skill and the only learning tool was books. If you think cold emailing for opportunities is difficult think about cold calling from a desktop land line. Sunny has amazing maturity way beyond his years. Would be great to get a Gen-X on the podcast to talk about college and early career back in the day.

So happy this showed up on my recommended! As a rising computer science major myself, I'm still figuring out my interests in machine learning, quantitative finance, and research and hearing Sunny's story really broadened my perspective of the work that computer science majors do today. Awesome content; you've just gained a new subscriber. :)

I think this is a good example of watching who you're taking advice from. While he is intelligent he's still a bachelor's student and not a billionaire CEO or the next Elon Musk. I was enjoying as long as he told his story but no need of shoving so much advice on topics you barely know about.

He has literally no experience or worthy achievements in startups than what's the point of asking him for advice?

next time you have someone like sunny please ask more questions about the research they did. Especially, if it is related to tech AI and machine learning. I was very interested in what kind of research he did. what problems he worked on. what problems he faced and how he overcame them. his favorite part of research. why he likes research. what progress me made in his research. etc. Also if you could interview PHD students you know from berkeley from eecs, mathematics, and statistics that would also be very interesting since berkeley and its faculty is at the forefront of those fields and in machine learning.

Of course, but once you get to the real world this stuff doesn’t matter, I’ve worked with IITians in the USA and to be honest they weren’t anything crazy (still good though)
