Great trip. Another luxurious cabin ferry trip. That's FIFA Women's World Cup at TV when on waiting room. Looks like ferry route between Osaka/Kobe to Kyushu Island is super competitive, since there are many operators in this route.

I am planning to replace the trip by shinkansen (Osaka/Kobe to Fukuoka) with the ferry trip: it will take more time obviously, but it will give me a nice and relaxing experience in exchange... And maybe the return trip from Kyushu to Tokyo will be replaced as well... do You have some suggestion for a doable ferry route from Fukuoka/Hakata/Shinmoji to the closest port near Tokyo (Yokosuka, Oarai, etc..)???

There is a ferry from Shin Moji that stops at Tokushima and arrives at Tokyo. It is Ocean Tokyu Ferry. Alternatively, there is a ferry from Shin Moji to Yokosuka. This is Tokyo Kyushu Ferry. However, these two ferries take somewhat too long and are not recommended for travelers with limited time. I recommend taking the Meimon Taiyo Ferry from Shin Moji to Osaka and then taking the Shinkansen from Osaka to Tokyo. I hope you enjoy your trip to Japan!😄
