it will hold over 200, why, because think of the centrifugal forces trying to sling the tire apart at 120mph. way more force then just 200 psi is needed to blow one apart, as a tire was engineered to not explode.

@@opossom1968 just because its engineered not to explode doesn't mean it won't. Why do you think its mandatory to cage a truck tyre while inflating it? It could be dry rotted, cracked, punctured, faulty, not seated correctly.

@@1one3_Racing Exactly right. I've had a brand new car tyre (205/60R16) blow off the bead at only 30 psi. Just because a tyre is "engineered not to explode" doesn't mean it won't happen. Mind you the beads had already seated against the wheel as well.

There was a channel called life od that tried exploding a tire purely on air pressure, and I'm pretty sure they reached crazy numbers. But I do know tires can take an intense amount of punishment before finally giving in. My uncle had a truck that got shunted off his land into this huge hole the city has dug for dirt to fill in spots and what not. Anyway, the truck landed on its wheels. A whole engine block in the bed, with lots of extra random scrap metal, and when my uncle drove his Bob cat down to haul it out. He was very surprised to find out that, the tires had not popped in the 40 foot drop

Now make a 4 way joystick that actuates four single piston cylinders (use a master from a hydraulic clutch - 2002 Accent for example) in an X formation and connect it to a X and Y axis pivoting joystick with pushrods to press into each master, oriented centrally so that each corner of the X points to the wheels LF, RF, RR, LR starting at top left and going clockwise. Connect the other end respectively to each corner of the car's brakes with brake lines - 4 way selective brakes ;)

He had the regulator set to 970 psi and the ten tie bolts that hold the wheel halves together failed and the whole goddamm thing blew up in his face. He never knew what hit him and it CUT HIM IN HALF!!! I was on that very jet about 20 minutes before it happened and it haunts me still. That was in 1986.
