The seats look great... wow, you did good.. Congrats... was wondering what would it have cost if you had some upholsterer say that Tampa shop guys do it all for you?
@Over50andLearningToFly3 жыл бұрын
Thanks ! It really wasn’t that hard I was actually surprised on how smoothly it went. It probably would’ve cost $1100-$1500 a seat. Upholstery like that is pretty expensive …. Thanks for watching!

This is inspiring me to do my own! What kind of paint did you use on the base? Did you prime it with anything first?
@Over50andLearningToFly Жыл бұрын
Just a primer and a paint in one ! Very simple !

Airtex instructions? I've never been able to find them.
@ewinston7011 ай бұрын
You have to call them and then they give you a web address and login code for their instruction website. They are just pictures too. You have to interpolate a little.

Great video. I too have an Airtex interior on the way. I look forward to seeing the next video. My plane is at AirPlains currently getting a new makeover. Interior to be done when Airtex sends me the seats.

I didn’t realize you did this yourself, good job!!!!!

I would love to do this to my airplane,I’m just afraid I won’t remember how to put it back together.i love the color you went with
@Over50andLearningToFly3 жыл бұрын
Take hundreds of pictures!!! You’ll be able to get it back together with no problem 😉

Thank you for taking the time to create content that is teaching and informative. I like that you show that you can do the upholstery yourself. Continue doing things the way you want to do them.

Those seats are beautiful! They look like they were done by a professional shop.

Great job on these seats! The process was fascinating!

Ted, I'm certain it's all going to look great once it's complete. Between the new engine, avionics upgrades and now, new interior, you've got yourself a new aircraft!! I'm guessing you're going to replace all of the interior panels too? (Headliner, side panels, etc.)
@Over50andLearningToFly3 жыл бұрын
Yes - everything except the headliner … 👍👍👍👍
@JessiJackson892 жыл бұрын
I’m preparing to do the same to our cardinal, where did you buy the seat rollers and all the screws and clips? How did you know which ones to replace them with?
@Over50andLearningToFly2 жыл бұрын
Everything came from your text interiors it was all a kit and everything was included and they really did a great job. Thanks for watching!
@marksill80203 жыл бұрын
Was any part of the $3k including the panels and carpet? Or are those separate?
@Over50andLearningToFly3 жыл бұрын
3500 for panels and seats - 440 for carpeting - i’m sorry I forgot to put that in there so it was around $4000 for everything…

Very cool, Ted. Q: Do the seats have "new plane" smell?
@Over50andLearningToFly3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely!!!!
@goadamson3 жыл бұрын
Would you have considered replacing the springs given the age of the seats or will the foam and fabric change offer enough support?
@Over50andLearningToFly3 жыл бұрын
No once you get in the springs then you’re really looking at getting new frames and actually they were fine they were just in need of a good cleaning and priming. The phone was really tight and stiff so that made the whole seats brand new. Thanks for watching!

Looks great, I’m ready to redo my Cessna’s interior. Are these leather or vinyl? Thank you from someone who’s a decade past 50 and still flying!
@Over50andLearningToFly3 жыл бұрын
I think there’s some kind of hybrid leather vinyl more on the vinyl side but they smell like leather!
