222mph ME163 with two motors comes apart in the air.

This is a ME163 that I have put two motors in. We were testing it on 4s and it just came apart in mid air on the second flight.

Great video guys! Sorry you lost your plane though. I do like that fact that you can laugh off a crash without getting upset! I'm betting you're going to have fun rebuilding it and squeaking a few more mph's out of it! Good luck and please post some more videos of it when you get it flying again!

@theRewindguy1 not quite how physics work. As speed increases linearly, drag goes up exponentially, so for 111mph although the throttle stick may have been half, the work of the motors were a lot less. At WOT, the power would be much much higher than half and the speed would not follow the torque curve.

Ah, I was hoping that they used actual firecracker engines or something like that. Would be awesome to use a modified bottle rocket, but (as in reality) it would be crazy hard to control, and would probably be badly damaged by the end of the flight.

How did you get a reading of 200+mph? The best radar guns out there like LEO and Bushnell are laser radar and all have a top end of 200mph. I also don't see how you could catch that on laser. Please educate me on this. Thanks

222 seems a bit high. drag force is non-linear. but if that thing really did hit 200+ it certainly could be lethal.

Yeah, I'm not believing that number either. If it's 111 at half throttle, drag goes up exponentially. It takes four times the power to go twice as fast so claiming 222 at full throttle... well, I just don't believe it. But it was definitely fast.
