I’m going to do something similar. I’ve already converted one to RC using a prop. It’ll fly without ailerons, but you need to have the elevator act as an elevon. With my new project, I’m planning to use a 50mm EDF. Does the EDF need to be that far back?

I saved 6 dollars by using foam board lol but you can if you want a cheap one head to dollar tree but this foam is strong if you don't mind weight you can add a leveled amount of foam board actually maybe a gram extra not doing much so add an extra layer on the most impacted planes to be crashed

Planes unless you buy like crazy easy mode planes, suck. Then it still might get blown under a tire. I just do helicopters now. and rock crawlers. Tired of fixing broken toys.
