After testing multiple brands weights and types of ammo this steel match is now my go to ammo. Sub moa thru my SS 1:8 barrel. For anyone wanting to avoid steel case, the American gunner uses the same bullet. It does cost around .20 more per round.

I'll have to try the American gunner again- I tested a box of 50, and for some reason, did not get nearly the same accuracy I've found with the steel match. But, the steel match has beaten out all other cartridges in my rifle in terms of accuracy- even rounds costing nearly 5 times the price. I'll have to try some varmint rounds for the next segment though

Did you have any issues with the coating of the steel match? There's a polymer coating that "can gum up your rifle". Any issues? Great video, man!

Diesel45 I don’t usually shoot the steel match in super high volume training exercises. I usually use fiocchi brass for that- So, I may not be able to give you the best answer on that. I also deep clean my rifle pretty regularly. That said, I have shot a lot of the steel match and have seen far less “gumming” than with some other cheaper stuff. Also the m&p seems to be pretty reliable with everything I have put through it. My friends DPMS has had a lot of failures with the steel match and other ammo. I imagine it’s more due to the fact that he rarely cleans or lubricates his rifle. Thanks for watching and commenting, hope the info has been helpful!

@@hobbesesq.8841 I have no idea why I never received this notification, lol. I'm on youtube regularly. yeah, your response does help. I read that the lacquer on this type of ammo gums up the action and so on. I want to have this as my shooting ammo, but not if the coating can cause issues. I have a good quality rifle. It's a Colt. Only "issues" ive had was when i forgot to clean the barrel, lol. Whoops! Fouling can cause accuracy issues, haha. Great vids, man! I subbed.

Does the steel rust easy?

1976axerhand I haven't left it in conditions that would really test that question extensively. But, from what I've seen my guess is it'd do pretty well. I do leave a lot of them in mags in my range box and they do fine. However, it seems that the coating on the cases is different in the last few boxes I've gotten. They used to have a more heavy lacquered feel and now, they are more satin. Couldn't say if they changed something in production, but either way accuracy has been incredible across the board in my rifle with the round.
