Dear Nastya I, from the bottom of my heart, appreciate all of your lessons. I've been stuck with russian cases for years! I've started to learn languages when I turned 14 after I had already learnt english and spanish because I felt like those 2 languages are commonly spoken in my country, so I gave the russian language a try and, fortunately, I fell in love with its alphabet, how it sounds, the new culture I had to witness in order to learn the language fast and many other good reasons to keep on learning it. But as time passed, I became more and more busy; having to focus on school, life and other responsabilities, after a full year of learning russian, I had to take countless breaks throughout the years, which made me lose my momentum of learning, my motivation and the knowledge I had. I thank you and the other teachers that allow us students to watch those lessons and to practice with those exercises for free. I appreciate the time, the effort and the great job you all do in order to share this beautiful language to us. I decided to comeback learning the russian cases once again, and from now, I feel like I'm getting this momentum back in track... very motivated and excited (a bit stressed because I remember what waits for me on genitive case plural forms). Thank you very much and forgive me if I made any writting mistake... english is not my main language.

Can you understand the text?: Как то раз гуляла Маша у дороги. Была она с мячиком. Не знала она, что играть у дороги опасно, и мячик закатился на дорогу. Она хотела достать его, как вдруг проезжает машина и лопает мяч! А Маша могла бы получить серьезные последствия. Who did understand this text write translating in replies.

Acompanho suas aulas há 1 - 1 ano e meio e admiro seu trabalho. Apenas a exposição ao idioma + sua paciência em explicar me ajudou muito na pronúncia hoje.. o mais difícil é encontrar alguém pra conversar. Obrigado! я начала смотрила твоии по-русски язык последни город, болыше спасибо для помогите меня изучать какои прекраснии язык ! я знаю все я писала doenst make any sense haha.. sorry, i'm still in the first steps. and i have a lot to thank you for. thanks for helping me learn more about this beautiful country and history and language. ! с любовью и уважением из бразилии! * edit: SOrry for the embarassing mistakes.. i avoid using translators and i'm using the "mnemonics keyboard" i think it might help me be understood, but it won't teach me the right way (such as being corrected by a native) - This way, i think it's is way more relevant to acquire vocabulary (in my humble opinion) because we memorize the teacher correcting and explaining, thus this consolidates more than a quick dictionary reading... sorry for the embarrassing text i wrote hehe.. but i think you understood what i tried to mean right? its been a year since i started watching, i learned the alphabet and checked whether i was A2 or A1 in your video, for my surprise.. i knew most of the vocabulary.. but that doesn't mean i know the "declension" and other features from a long text - would that put me in a spot like "false A2"? anyway i'm glad there are tons quality documentaries and movies from yout homeland. Thanks again!

Choose the genitive case to study it next. genitive = "of" case X of Y = Y is always used in the genitive case. The principle is quite simple. student of Nastya - студент/студентка Насти, номинатив Настя ->генетив Насти shadow of Death - тень Смерти, номинатив Смерть-> генетив Смерти smile "of" a girl/girl"s smile - улыбка девушки номинатив девушка->генетив девушки for feminine nouns in the genitive case, the ending "И"/"Ы" is usually used - remember this and keep practicing.Later add the practice for masculine and neuter words with this case. Then, while maintaining the level with the already studied cases, add new case to your active learning schedule.

@@SpankyHam That’s a good adwice, certainly will do. Another problem I have is with the verbal prefixes, which can completely change the meaning of the verb. (According to the wiktionary, Russian has 40 of these, while Hungarian has 64.) Well, the solution is practicing them in context, I guess. That’s how I learned them in my native language, after all.  Спасибо!

@@nonman3634 If I, as a native speaker of Russian, hear a verb that is completely unfamiliar to me for example from specific kind of activity like shipping or military affairs, and somebody explain to me what it means , then I can "feel" all its meanings with prefixes intuitively. Yes, this is just the result of gaining a lot of experience with other verbs in similar situations. My mind immediately gives the ready-made meaning of "prefixed" verbs bypassing the stage of analysis when it needed some effort.
