@@ReginaK2 Exactly right. I really like some C02 planted tanks that don’t need any water changes. The large landscaped tanks with plants covering the whole bottom of the tank and only about 20 small tetras. The plants mop up all the nitrates and toxins from the fish poop and provide ample oxygen. You really only need to replace the water for aesthetics as it turns yellowish, not because of nitrates.

Thank you @Whaleydavey It has made the hobby a lot more enjoyable. I cleaned 10 tanks in 2hrs. That is unheard of for me, prior to adding the water change system.

I have a little 75 gal I like keeping clean & clear & I'm kinda O C D about it, but I learned that with a (little) cleaning out the old nasty gunk the aquarium does what it should & establish it's self with no spikes, & enjoy a good clean clear aquarium. I clean mine at least once a month, but I only have 5 small fish but next year I'm going to put something in that likes a fast flow tank & don't mess with the plants I have in it "Amazon sword. I don't want any big fish but something with color & not guppies. but something that will look good & that gets along with other fish, like a community type tank, you have any suggestions ?

Sounds good. I love 75 gallons because it gives nice options for schooling fish. The Celebes tetra are awesome The serpae tetra has brilliant red colors Gold Congo tetras look amazing, as do cherry red Congo tetras Male Dwarf neon rainbow are striking A show piece fish would be a dwarf neon blue gourami but they can sometimes be a tad bit nippy depending on the fish.
