It does sound like Alaina but I dont think its her. It's Marla though. She doesnt get enough credit bc 227 was supposed to debut the year after it did but when the Jeffersons got unexpectedly canceled, they rushed 227 into production so this woman literally worked for 16 years straight on TV non stop.

@Notthefather Not to mention she's one of the most comically gifted actors in the business. She deserved multiple emmys for The Jeffersons alone.
@eyeflaps3 жыл бұрын
They confirmed a long time ago that it was Marla, Alaina and Ray Colcord. Marla sings lead vocals, Alaina does some of the backup and Ray is part of it too likely as the male voice. I read that on a 227 interview they did in the early 2000s.
@megamanj2004X14 жыл бұрын
This is actually from S3, the 1987-88 season. Except for a few eps. Jackee wasn't with the show in the 1989-90 season. Plus her departure in the 1989 season added 4 new cast members w/ Toukie A. Smith, Stoney Jackson, Barry Sobel, and Paul Winfield. And also that season Alaina Reed would later be credited as "Alaina Reed Hall" due to her 2nd marriage to the late Kevin Hall who guest-starred occasionally on this show later on.

Jackee just did five guest appearances on the show during season 5. I bet the show would have lasted if they kept jackee

The show just didn't work as well without Sandra. The love\hate dynamic between Mary and Sandra was a big part of the show and the chemistry of the four ladies as well as messed up with one missing. Sandra basically was the JJ Evans of this show and without her nobody was watching it which is why it got canned a year after she left.

I think I actually read this, but the opening scene of the credits where they are sitting on the steps looks like it was modeled after (if not was the same) setting as the front steps of Sesame Street, which might have been fitting for Alaina Reed, since she played Olivia on Sesame Street.
@Tes70002 ай бұрын
When I was at Kent State in the early nineties, Alaina Reed Hall was honored by the university one of the years I was there as Alumna of the Year or something. She gave a speech to the students and remarked that when she showed up at the 227 set, she felt right at home because of the similarity to Sesame Street.

The only episodes I remember of 227 is Brenda getting a Job and thinking she could drop out of School since she made her own money and working with a Cautionary Tale, a Teen Mother who struggled with Basic Math, who didn't even know that 12×3 was 36 or something shocking like that and Brenda told her Parents she felt so bad for her and her Parents said something like,"This is why you should stay in school." I remember an Episode where Mary got a Teacher fired and when he got his job back, he gave her FAKE flowers for getting him fired in the first place, LMAO! :D, I remember an Episode where Sandra was trying to impress her Mother, I remember an Episode where some shady Man had ALMOST all the Apartment owners inadvertently sign for a "Demolish the Apartment Complex,"Contract. He tricked them into thinking he was going to UPGRADE the Apartment Complex, not have it Demolished.... He smugly pointed out that everyone signed the "Demolish the Apartment Complex," paper as ALMOST everyone was HORRIFIED at what they signed,EXCEPT Mary who was smart and figured out he was putting a scam and signed her name as "Donald Duck," voiding the Contract and the Apartment owners were relieved. I remember an Episode where Mary inadvertently stole Sondra's Walk on Role on a TV Show by having more natural dialogue than Sondra when Mary was trying to HELP Sondra say the line more naturally. "He went that way." Mary said it naturally, Sondra said it dramatically and the Crew realized Mary was the one who deserved the walk on Role, not Sondra and hired Mary for the role which made Sondra understandably mad.

I totally agree. What destroyed this show was when Mary and Sandra became friends. The first two seasons were gold. Not so much in the latter seasons, especially after Jackee Harry left in the final season. After Jackie Harry left the show, I thought they should have moved the Emma character into the building. With both Emma and Pearl in the building, they would have had two older women as main cast, but they were nothing alike, and Emma was the perfect foil for Mary.

The Revelation true off the Black Panther from doctor Chadwick Aaron Boseman We left off with when it came to Pomona in the movie so doctor Chadwick Aaron Boseman explain the role and how the the leading actors in the movie and ones that didn't even got a chance to talk about their characters for number one if you didn't notice especially when it came to the sister her pot in his movie was very important and how she perceives herself as a sign it also Inspire other young black children to grow up so they can also pursue their dream in the science Industry she was not allowed to promote the movie or even talk about it if you notice going back on every interview there was just Michael the Peter and doctor Chadwick Aaron Boseman when she find out why and what was the reason she was pissed off because of the color of her skin for feature she was not important enough that she need to be there to promote movies that say about her character Lettia Wright when I found out about this I had a talk with her and she explained her feelings about the situation she didn't know the Disney has an issue with black culture and how people look until it occurred to her and when it happened to you then you realize I didn't hit you very hard she's told me she's like why are they having a problem they didn't have a issue when they offered me the role to play this character and something now there is a problem about my look the color my skin probably represent this company and the movie I could tell that she was very hurt I was very upset I didn't like this one damn bit I told her do not let Disney have any input of who you are because you do represent us you are part of this family that played in this movie and off the movie you are my sister I have your back the Black Culture is not falling for that crap cuz we have been through this road so many times before in this country and in the past and our history has told this story so many times. it didn't stop there it continue on with another co-star of this movie his name is Winston Duke he was outraged and man and could not believe that he was out past his role was not important enough that nobody would be interested in what he has to say about his character and what pot that he play in the movie. The next co-star his name is Daniel Kalaaya. Deep voice is opinion came down to the fact that we did as much work as everybody else I'll catch her without our story would not complete this movie ever part is important to complete and make this movie successful and when I found out that I wasn't allowed to speak about my character it was like I did not exist my world was not important enough. how do you make me feel when I found out my brothers and sister who worked very hard as much as we did was discluded from promoted and speaking their minds about the character and watch this movie means to them I was outrageous the words and the thought I cannot say but let me tell you you you would not be surprised. Now this actor has been in this business and pay his dues and this is how Disney treated him it was beyond disrespectful his name is Martin Freeman he said it didn't surprise him after all this industry was built on race and president if you go back to old Hollywood and how our brothers and sisters were portrayed in movies and Ceci Gone With the Wind how disgraceful that was it made it seem like what slavery was nothing important by the character Scarlett O'Hara was and if you would god what we went through as a slavery so he told me look you know what I know the game and how they play it is no excuse when it comes to a my other brothers and sisters of course my heart went out to them because it's very hard for them to why Disney would do such a disgrace toward them. the inner part 1 of the Revelation truth off of Black Panther from doctor Chadwick Aaron Boseman
