Currently putting together a KRG Bravo with 21" Lilja barrel, 10oz Timney trigger, Accu-Tac PC 4 bipod, Arken EP-5 7X35X56 glass, Barnes 15 MOA rail, SG Pulse electronic level, Masterpiece Arms one-piece mount, Flatline Ops fold out bubble level (backup that mounts directly to the scope mount), and the whole rig will sleep in a Pelican iM3300 case with a Tab Gear Pinnacle sling and 8 L3i 13 round magazines. Will also be using the Pelican 1450 case for ammo storage. This is my third 457 build with the Lilja 21" barrel. If you aren't aware, nearly all Lilja barrels prefer premium ammo. I started out lot testing Eley Match and have never left. I get .2 to .4 inch five shot groups out of every Lilja barrel at 50. When shooting out to 100 and beyond, I use Tenex. Tenex is always better at distance due to lower SD's and ES's. I regularly shoot to 200, 250, and 300 yards to bust eggs . . . to entertain brother-in-laws. You're doing 15 to 30 round groups. Try better ammo and justify the cost with less group count. Be sure and check out Josh at Pursuit Of Accuracy on KZbin. Vast amount of truly useful info there. Might want to try a good ballistic app to make things easier on the brain. I use Strelok Pro. Every .22 ammo is there, and every reticle. You'd love it.

Sounds like a really nice build. In the club I shoot with we all shot SK Rifle Match but almost everyone else has upgraded their ammo. I have shot some Midas+ and it did really well. I also have some Eley Match that I will be trying soon. Upgrading your ammo for the really long shots makes a lot of sense. Things really fall apart for me beyond 75 yards. Let me know how the new rig shoots.

I've an original 10\22 rifle. That came rifle stock and carbine barrel.(1970's vintage. Will shoot point of " whistle pig" with federal bulk pak. Although I would like a fancy 10/22, this one shoots better than my 79 yo body can I've owned it since 1982. Bought as second owner.

Continue pursuing accuracy...we are old fudds, and don't sweat the minutiae of super tight groups, but we d@mn sure glad there are so many that are chasing perfection...some extra accuracy is easily obtained if you willing to shell out $$$ for state of the art components, but the final little bit is still on you...we would be thrilled with 1.7 inches at 100 yards, but the 'experts' shave an inch off that...

Proper shooter/target analysis will reveal the cause of all errors. I suspect your marksmanship will improve if you come to understand needed hold for wind, as well as realization of having properly adjusted natural point of aim. This is my perspective judging the shape of your groupings, professing in capacity as a CMP-USAMU Military Rifle Instructor assisting USAMU deliver SDM Trsining.
@Okrifleman3 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and for the suggestions. I agree with you 100%. The wind is a very difficult thing to figure out. We shoot a know your limits stage and one miss gets you zero points for the entire stage. I had been shooting these nice tight 5 shot groups and then wondering why I missed a shot at know your limits. It's because I did not "know my limits." That's why I started shooting 20 to 30 shot groups. Now I have a baseline of what I am capable of and with practice hopefully I will be able to make some real improvements. We can all shoot some really nice 5 shot groups occasionally but who cares? What can you do consistently?

@@Okrifleman use an MOA wind constant of 2 for 100 yard shooting. The formula is: 100 yards divided by 100 times wind value in mph divided by constant of 2 equals windage adjustment needed in MOA. So, let’s say there’s a crosswind raising dust and blowing loose paper. That would be an 8 to 12 mph full value wind averaged to 10 mph. Thus, 100 yards divided by 100 equals 1 times 10 mph equals 10 divided by MOA wind constant of 2 equals a 5 MOA or 5 inch adjustment. Now for a 3 mph full value wind: 100 yards divided by 100 equals 1 times 3 mph wind equals 3 divided by MOA wind constant of 2 equals 1.5 MOA or 1.5 inch adjustment. You can see of course now that correct wind appraisal and counter are essential to good shooting. Thing is it is really easy when you know what wind looks and feels like and apply the proper MOA wind constant for the cartridge/distance.

For the money spent on that rifle, it’s not very accurate. I have a stock tikka with 16” barrel, lot tested lapua polar, with an EC tuner, that shoots 10 shot ragged 1 hole groups at 50, and around.75 10 shot groups at 100.

@@mirekslechta7161 You are correct about the ammo. The best ammo I have found was Midas+. It shot really well but the cost was $22 a box compared to $10 for the SK.
