started over 20 years ago and culminating in a published volume with cd, in 2002, by sierra college (rocklin, ca), called 'standing guard, an oral history', it features members of 442 from placer county and their stories...most, if not all, have passed on, so it was fortuitous that they were able to be heard before their lives became mere memories...

Thank you so much for this wonderful tribute to the Nisei soldiers! We got to watch this with my 96-year-old Uncle who served in the 442nd and who shared a few of his recollections with us. So from here in Inglewood CA, a heartfelt thank you to all who served, and much love and gratitude to our family members who served in the 442nd: Saburo Matsumoto, Jiro Matsumoto, Shiro Matsumoto, and Kazuo Sato! 🇺🇲
