From here in Australia, there is a love for the brand RM Williams that I don't believe the rest of the world has noticed. All the leather is Australian and it is fully made in Australia.
@Jackson.W.Rose1138 Жыл бұрын
came to comment this, RM Williams are everywhere in Australia, from your local footy club to high fashion events, and for good reason, their silhouette is gorgeous, they're extremely well made and durable too.

I’m from Sweden but lived in Australia for a year, definitely noticed the amount of RMs everywhere. They’re really nice, but usually here we only wear boots during the colder months (and some even wear sneakers in -20° and snow?!)

I have owned a pair of Oakley vertex boots for about a month and I am very happy with them. You're right about the fact that they are very light but I wouldn't call them cheap feeling. They are incredibly comfortable while keeping my feet warm and dry in Germany's snowy season. These are only the second pair of outdoor-type boots I've ever owned though, so please take my review with a grain of salt.

Whats sizing like?
@brittanystorey9460 Жыл бұрын
I will say the blundstone boots are the boots most people get when they can only afford one pair of boots and need something that can do it all. Hiking check, waterproof check, night out check, daywear check, slide on check. Do they do anything excellently? no but they work well for versatility. It's like the Ikea of boot imo.
@nathang2085 Жыл бұрын
Got myself a pair of the oakley vertex boots last year and they are absolutely amazing. Water proof, suuuuper comfy, and light but not in a cheap feeling kind of way. The quality is definitely there and as i’ve worn them thru the year they are most def worth a look

Those Eddie Bauer k6's are a killer deal at $110 right now, better quality than lots of other boots on this list. I'm also surprised at the lack of LL. Bean boots, both the Cresta and the classic Bean boots are great winter kicks, although they might not go with many fits.

note on blundstone sizing, from what ive heard, the size (length) of the boot is reflected as the whole number aka size 9, size 11, etc. and the middle sizes or the .5, is width. So a 9.5 is the same length as a 9, but wider,

Surprised you didn’t mention the Reese Cooper Wilson Boot. Price point is up there for sure ($350-$500 depending where you can find them online), but they’re probably one of the most versatile and high quality boots I’ve owned. And I’ve owned boots like Red Wing Iron Rangers and Alden Indy boots. Man…these RC Wilson Boots take the cake for sure. You can dress them up, dress them down, and even go on hikes with them. Additionally, they come with a nice dust bag and 3 different colored laces (if you cop the OG beige colorway).

Just a a quick comment on the doc martins. Instead of getting the 1460s, you should instead look for solofairs 8 eye derby boots, they use better leather, are made in the UK and to top it off are the orignal factory before docs took their manufacturing overseas and made the end product a shell of what they once were. Solofairs also retail around the same price aswell. If you do want the doc martin yellow stitching i'd consider looking for a pair that was made before the 2000's as that's when they where still produced in the UK.

I've found its better to not cheap out on boots. Yes, some of these can run $300-$400, but they tend to always be worth that money and usually can be re-soled so you can keep them for most of your life if you want to. That said, Jim Green is affordable and good quality out of the cheaper alternatives named. Also as an American, I try to have some of my clothes made in America, which is close to impossible to find these days (nice knowing at least a few things you own weren't made by underpaid workers/children in bad conditions). But Red Wing is made in America, so is their tannery, so if you want to support an American brand that has a lot of pedigree, always has high quality products, Red Wing is that brand.

@jasonc.3685 Жыл бұрын
They are indeed beautiful and comfy, but in the 2 pairs I currently own there have been some quality control issues. In my soft lace-to-toe boots, (Frontiersman model) there is a minor stitching defect in the toe area that leads to water seeping inside the boot regardless of my waterproofing efforts, I contacted them for a warranty, which they said they would honor, they stated that is a common issue in lace to toe boots and a new boot may not solve that issue. This irked me and I just now never where that pair when its lightly wet outside. The second boot, Sawyer steel toe, the left boot came pre-creased in the area just before the steel toe starts, and I didn't bother to contact customer service for this issue as they are my work boots so looks don't matter much for working boots. I'd suggest checking out other pacific northwest brands like Nick's, Frank's, or JK's, but whites isn't the worst idea as they have cheaper entry level boots that may not have any lead times
