Seems like it's running well. I think the original rev was a cable settling. That sure is a sweet ride. :)

Yea it is running nice, you could be right, maybe it snagged slightly on the carbs. They are new cables, so I was thinking possibly sticking butterfly valves, the fuel would have lubed them after if it was. Could have been either I guess, cheers mate 👍

Awesome you are back up and running again mate 🙂

A track day video on this beast would be awesome.

It would mate! unfortunately I can't do track days, I don't even have leathers unfortunately. I will have to try and save for some, and a track day, but something always gets in the way of saving of course.

@@HalfdeadRider Saving is always hard! I just bought nice RST leathers but my current bike is a shiny 07 Hayabusa and I'm not sure about taking her for my first track day 😅

Glad you've got it back up and running - I use Vpower fuel all the time and even on a 125 it seems to make a difference😁 Sounds like the throttle just stuck open or cable snagged when it revved on approach to that junction. Hopefully a one off!
@HalfdeadRider Жыл бұрын
Cheers mate 👍 I agree it was either the cables snagging, or the butterfly valves sticking, shouldn't happen again, but could have been very dangerous, but I was just worried about the engine tbh. I use V power every few tanks for it's superior cleaning properties 👍
@dt125guy7 Жыл бұрын
@@HalfdeadRider Mines an old 2 stroke so have to use super unleaded but I'd definitely be running that beast on Vpower all the time - will run sweet on it. Thankfully the kill switch came in useful for that junction but unnerving I'm sure especially on a 900!
@HalfdeadRider Жыл бұрын
@@dt125guy7 I always use super still mate wherever I get my fuel. I had the clutch in before the killswitch, if I didn't, the bike would have flipped 😂 2 strokes are awesome, bit harder to maintain though.

@@HalfdeadRider Yeah awesome when u hit the power band on the 2t but top end rebuilds are a pain🤣 Enjoy that ZX9R - its mint!

Congrats on getting back on the road 🥳 Very interesting to hear all that you did, I never knew you can have 'sticky buckets' I really don't like the sound of that 🤢 Did you find out what the rev jump was at the start and have you sorted the speedo?
@HalfdeadRider Жыл бұрын
Thanks beans 😎 Yea, sticky buckets does sound a bit nasty 😂 I never figured out what the high rev was as such, but think it was poss a sticking butterfly valve on the carbs, probably didn't happen again as the fuel would have lubed them up. I have new throttle cables fitted and did lube up the linkages on the carbs. I havent sorted the speedo yet, did have a quick look to make sure the electrical connectors were fully seated, then put the bike away and the heavens opened. I think I need to take the tank off again to check whether I connected the speedo sensor or not, I hope that's the case 😂
@BeansOnToast_YT Жыл бұрын
@@HalfdeadRider Yeah that could well have been a sticking butterfly valve. I thinking I didn't once seat the end of the speedo cable all the way in on the front wheel thingy which caused it not to pick up the little gear thingy. That was when it was all mechanical, and one day I'll tell you my embarrassing shim story when I first dived into the top end of a bike 🤣
@HalfdeadRider Жыл бұрын
@@BeansOnToast_YT 😂 😂 definitely need to tell me about how the shims went for you, you could make a motovlog about it 😂 I thought I may have done them wrong too when the collet came out, after realising it wasn't the CCT. The speedo sensor on mine bolts to the front sprocket cover, I will check if it is ok somehow, and look to see if it is connected or not under the tank. May be able to do that soon.

Well done buddy When the bike revved up like that my ass would have been twitching faster than a rabbits Nose 😂 But I’m glad you back on it and you can see you are very happy to be out 😊

Cheers mate 👍 I had to think quick, I was more worried about the engine, it was more scary watching it back though 😄 I did get out again since and managed to make a small vid. But won't be out for a while now again as my dog Buddy has been badly hurt unfortunately, so having to stay with him 24/7 for a while.
