Crackin video Mick... Those fish were feisty... Its been hard fishing at my local the past week so I'm having a rest from it and will focus more on the browns come April.. I'll be using your flies to lure them in
@mdflyfishinguk52209 ай бұрын
Hi Ross yes me too, the River Calder my local river opens up next Monday its 5 mins away. £30 for the year, not into grayling, so it will be the brownies for me on my streamers, some of the browns run to 6lb+, plus and a good chance of a sea trout. They like dark streamers here, i send you some up by the end of the month. Regards Mick
@Caithnessflyfisher9 ай бұрын
@@mdflyfishinguk5220 oooo those streamers will certainly work up my lochs come spring.. My pal was using wooly buggers last year which I don't have.. The bigger ones certainly prefer them early on.. Then we've got the daddies to look forward to and the good old hawthorns

Great stuff Mick. I have done well on beaded buzzers over the years, but I use the little glass crafting beads instead of fly tying beads. Much cheaper and sink slower.....
@mdflyfishinguk52209 ай бұрын
That might solve a method of keeping a pulling buzzer high in the water, while doing a very slow fig 8. i will tie some up for a test Regards Mick @@oldgold5848

@@mdflyfishinguk5220 no problem. Red or orange seem to work best, or black used as the head of an epoxy buzzer type

I’m there on the 30th of this month can’t wait hopefully hook into a few 🎣. Cracking video how would you fish this place being your first time An don’t want to blank driving two hours to get there so fingers crossed 🎣🎣
@mdflyfishinguk52209 ай бұрын
Get a sporting ticket. First time to catch and playing the fish use a bung, buzzers or eggy worms, squirmy worms from 2ft to 5 ft and bring some hedgehog flies for drifting in the surface. All of this can be done with a floating line, 12 -14ft leader 7/8lb strength or sinking lines use a single snake pink, olive or black on a 8-10ft leader. All the flies can be had when you book in . Ask Andy or Steve what's been fishing they will advise & tell them its your 1st time. Regards MD
