I have special permission to go fishing on this completely untouched river, and it's FULL of big fish! It went even better than I could have imagined. These fish will have never seen a lure, or a hook before and it definitely showed. This is one of the most action packed wild trout fishing trips of my life and we even managed another species too. Apologies my weight estimates are off 😅 I get over excited. What a day this was, and I really appreciate you guys tuning in and watching!
I'll be back soon to see what other surprises this stunning river has in store. If you enjoyed this video, please don't forget to like and subscribe. It really helps the channel! I'd love to hear what you think of the video in the comments below too.
Rod: Rigged and ready Fish Rig 180
Reel: Rigged and ready RR1000
Lure: Rapala countdown elite 3.5cm trout pattern
Remember, you can get 10% off anything on the Rigged and ready travel rods website by using discount code AFUK10 here: riggedandready.net/
As always, thanks for watching and hopefully i'll see you here again soon!

Nice1 George 💯👌🏼 what a lovely location you jammy bugger 😉😁 I got a new fly rod n reel combo a few weeks back & had only used it once until Friday evening my little Brother called me around 3:30 after his work he had left his house keys in his house but had his gear in his work van so asked if I wanted to go out so he comes to get me n just before we were about to leave he said oh no I’ve left my rod in the shed so we had to travel 15 miles only to find it was his longer rod that was in his shed & his other rod must be in the house 🤷🏼‍♂️then when we got to my Dads on our way to my local river he stays just around the corner from it I realised I had left my waders 🤦🏼‍♂️ so back to mines 🤷🏼‍♂️ so we get to the river get set up turned out his rod was in the van all the time 🤦🏼‍♂️ so we split up I had a few casts at some rising trout but the sun was right in my face so decided to move up stream as I’m getting out I’m reeling in my line & somehow the top section of my rod snapped clean off 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️ easily the worst evening I’ve ever had I’m hoping I can get it repaired but haven’t called the shop yet but I’m thinking of patching it completely & going back to spinning that’s the 3rd time over the years I’ve got a fly set up & only caught 2/3 over 25 years ago I don’t think I’m meant to be a fly fisherman 🤷🏼‍♂️ sorry for the rant 🤦🏼‍♂️ take it easy n Tight lines Also been totally shafted with football bets all weekend Chelsea got their 2nd goal disallowed today had it stood I would have won £5000 🤬😢 ✌🏼💙🎣🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👍🏼

Like I said earlier I didn't know the UK had such good fishing. I thought just carp and catfish maybe some pike. I was so wrong. That's great trout fishing. What size line do you use? Connecticut in New England USA. We have decent trout waters here but most are stocked hatchery fish. There are still some native brook trout around in the small streams. Nice video, well done. I don't understand private rivers. In Australia most rivers are public and fenced from private land. Do the shorts help or hinder the fishing. Not likely to start a fashion trend

Firstly, absolutely love your channel. So, just got back into fishing after 30 years and armed myself with some Rigged and Ready kit. My question is, for the fishing you do, small rivers for trout, chub and perch, what line should I be using? Braid, mono or Flou? Also what Ibs? Any advice would be brilliant.
@adventurefishinguk

Thanks for watching i'm glad you're enjoying the videos! To be fishing the most effectively you should be using a braided mainline somewhere between 8 and 12lb down to an 8lb fluoro leader. That's what i'd recommend anyway!

Hi George! Loving the videos! I’m a long time shore angler, just getting into river spinning. Got myself a rigged and ready rod! What would you recommend in terms of length and weight of leader? Do I even need a leader? And if so should I use floro or mono? Thanks mate, and keep up the excellent work!
@adventurefishinguk

Thanks for watching! If you’re using braided mainline you definitely need a fluorocarbon leader. For lighter spinning I’d go for 8lb and maybe 12lb if it’s a bit snaggy!

You have to pay for a license to fish freshwater yes, and in a lot of cases either a day ticket or membership. Sometimes free though other than the license! Culturally, we put most of the freshwater fish we catch back!

@@adventurefishinguk Hi mate. You had it pretty much covered. Up stream from where you were is a private stretch. Let’s just say there is a large park where the river where the river flows about a mile and a half upstream. If you google earth it from your trout location you should find it. It’s very shallow but there are places where it deepens and there are reasonable chub. But the playing fields can get very busy with kids and dogs etc. It’s one of those rivers that needs to be explored especially down stream but can be tricky getting to the bank side.

A few things on your release. If you are not already doing so (you might be editing that out), please wet your hands prior to touching a trout, contact with dry hands or land or dry nets removes a layer of slime that protects them from bacteria. Also, try to minimize a trout's time out of water to 10 seconds or you greatly increase their mortality (it's much better for the fish if you keep it submerged in your net before lifting it out to show people vs on it's side exposed to air). Tight lines!
