I’m disappointed yall didn’t address the biggest accusation in the video; that being someone destroying jazz’s cleats and jazz not practicing with the team. Honestly, it was not the greatest response from Miggy Ro, but I appreciate that he at least addressed the matter. He seems like a fairly good guy, so it was likely more on his mentors for how he was taught. I’ve never really liked Jazz (probably because I’m a Braves fan, lol), but this issue may just tip in his favor unless anyone actually disproves what he said because it doesn’t appear on the surface out of the ordinary from the Veteran/Rookie stories that get told around the league and sports in general. Makes you truly appreciate guys like Joey Votto, though, after what he did last year not treating those rookies like a normal vet of his learning era may have. You can still show rookies how to be professional in the big leagues and all have fun at the same time. (Kyle Gibson with the Orioles is another good example of this.)

I think the point was, he is not going to tell his version of club house events. I am sure he did do some policing of Jazz. If anyone needs policing of their over inflated and unearned ego, its Jazz. But he is not going to say what he did. I remember him complimenting and hyping up Jazz on this show multiple times over the years. He spoke of him with respect. Even here, he respects him enough to not shine any more line on the likely deficient character Jazz possesses. I find it really hard to believe Miggy did the cleat thing if it even really happened. He loves shoes and has since he started in the big leagues. I don't see a world where shoe fashion was something he was trying to police. But he may have policed things like subpar work ethic, disrespect to team leaders or staff, and acting a fool on the field. We won't hear those stories because Miggy is class.

But I think the guys that police the game a little bit and make sure disrespect and arrogance doesn't get out of control are important. Jazz has come across as arrogant in every interview I have ever seen him do - including all his stuff promoting a way too early spot on the Show's cover. Whereas I remember Miggy's episodes several years ago talking up Jazz, and saying he has so much talent and ability, as well as what it takes to be a leader, he just needs to keep working and putting in the effort. He was always encouraging and supportive on all of it. It is pretty easy for me to know which side of this I come down on. And I don't believe Jazz's stories at all. One thing that doesn’t sit well with me about this interview is last October, Rose was hyper-critical of reporters who don’t want to ask tough questions for fear of offending players and losing their sources. But here, he had an obvious chance of pushing Miguel Rojas for tough answers and didn’t take it. I know they’re friends, but it’s the same scenario.
@russellchung31199 ай бұрын
I personally don't think it's the same type of interview. There is a difference between what Chris Rose does on the Rotation and what the media are supposed to do when they are writing pieces. The Rotation is supposed to be an inside look from the players about the MLB, not a critique piece. He gave Miguel Rojas a platform to address it and moved on because that is not what this show is about. Other shows from the media might have shows that are meant to be more aggressive/critical.

So let me get this straight. You have to uphold a toxic atmosphere because the old vets on a bad team say so. And if you try to change things up and try to enjoy your time. Then you move the vets. @octaviomirabal13219 ай бұрын
I have to disagree. Having fun and being yourself isn’t something veterans players should frown upon. And you are a team, if you see someone that sleeping and you know you are about to head out for a game wake them up it’s simple. One time I had teammates that ran late to the bus to go to an away game and we told the coach to wait for them to not go ahead because that’s what teammates do. You are one team, yes messing around and hazing(is normal) but at the end of the day you are a unit with one goal in mind to win a championship. Not a good look for Rojas especially as the captain job is to guide the fire from your teammates not put it out.

Obviously there could be details jazz is leaving out or overlooking in the other interview that would maybe justify some level of hostility from the vets, but this video offered no clarity on that, and didn’t address the more harsh accusations. Why wasn’t he practicing with the team? Was he really not welcome? Did the players take issue w a dude not having to practice? Like what happened there? Why did someone cut up his cleats? Was there actually a meeting where don told the clubhouse to leave jazz alone? Was there anything jazz did that showed a lack of accountability? MIGGY RO is the best. His response just shows how mature and classy he is. Its unfortunate the experience Jazz had with him, but the way he handled that and put Miggy on blast was wack. The vets need to continue to put the rules in place to keep things professional but still fun. The young guys need to learn and respect these vets. They have been in the major league for years for A REASON! They know what they're doing.

I’m not going to lie it sound like a bunch of crap coming from Rojas 👎🏾

I honestly wish we would trade Jazz-he’s a terrible leader and hasn’t done anything to warrant this kind of attention/treatment lmao. It’s laughable

Well you ain't always going to get what you want so my best advice since you're mad about it let me ask you a question did Rojas deny it yes or no
@bvd75179 ай бұрын
What's more likely? A mercurial wanna-be super star with narcissist tendancies won't take responsibility for his own failings and casually placing blame elsewhere, or that a well-loved veteran who is known for his selfless attitude and his work with younger players somehow singled him out for eggragious and unfair treatment? I know who I believe.
@gentlemanjake80059 ай бұрын
He didn’t deny anything Chisholm said. He just pulled the “I’m a veteran, you’re a rookie” argument. Which is lame.

Used to love MiggyRo, and then at some point, he let the captain thing go to his head and became a dick and thin-skinned. Marlins twitter remembers the twitter rants and blocking everyone cause he couldn't take the criticism.

Interesting take, seems like he said the opposite.

@@tyberiksen Nope, MiggyRo has gone on some very unflattering rants against random people on Twitter because he couldn't take the criticism. Also, as a team captain saying it's not your job to wake up a player for a meeting? Damn, what a shitty leader. You'd think as a captain, you'd want to lead with grace and get all of the guys in the locker room to buy in.

Honestly Miguel he’s is right about you. After Jazz said how you vets treated him with things like trashing his shoes? How dare any of you do that. Have some decency to own up that you’re a mid player and Jazz can out perform you any day. Happy trails, don’t ever come back as a marlin.

Glad Jazz called him out. Rojas must have been a joy in the clubhouse lol…Don’t be cutting up a guys custom cleats and throwing them in the trash. Not cool.

Was hoping to hear miggy ro and his side of this. I tend to believe him since jazz has always come across and cocky and coddled. Can someone explain to me what he’s done in his career to get so much obsession from marlins fans? Cause I can tell you he’s accomplished nothing

There is a clubhouse rule. Anyone whose been part of it knows that. Is what Miguel or what the other did too Jazz wrong yes. Is Jazz correct for coming out and flamin active players and breaking clubhouse norm no this is going to make him look like a snitch to his current clubhouse. We all get it what Jazz was trying to do but the way clubhouses work is not like normal society and if you have not been part of one than you wont understand.

Miggy was fine when he got traded to Miami, just an average player playing his position with good defense. I feel like his ego got bigger and bigger when Miami made him look like a good player and made him Captain, that's when everything went downhill, guy acted like he was straight up Derek Jeter. The way Jazz acted is not correct, not the right way to address things, but a CAPTAIN should know how to read his teammates, everyone has different personalities and he must know how to approach to them. Saying one thing face to face and then bi*** about him straight to the manager is a bi*** move, just to point out one. The way I see it and ofc my opinion, is straight up jealously from Miggy. Jazz was somehow stealing his moment, maybe he saw Jazz as the guy he wanted to be but really isn't. Young, flashy, liked by the kids, Jordan brand, has fun playing the game always laughing, that didn't rub right with Miggy. 🤷♂
