The NPP government deserves praise for its decisive actions to eliminate widespread corruption and power abuse. This marks a significant shift in Sri Lanka, although it is only a short-term solution. Sri Lanka's ethnic and religious issues will persist, and the country will not progress unless the entrenched ideology of "This is only a Sinhalese Buddhist country" is challenged and transformed. If a Sinhala political faction continues to advocate the protection of Buddha and Sinhala in response to the growing minority, the Sinhala majority will continue to support them. The Separate Sinhala Act, enacted by Mr. Bandaranaike, was a result of the ideology of separate Sinhala/majority, Who first initially addressed the politics of racial equality. It is imperative to engage the Sinhalese people in a friendly and open dialogue about their ideology and to cultivate honest leadership that can help alleviate their fears. The people of Sri Lanka are wrongly brought up from school that it is necessary to protect religion and God rather than the life of fellow human beings.
We want President to get involved and stop this aggression against Sinhalese in Diwulapathana and by Tamil politician Rasamannikam and his group taking upperhand without giving due respect to Sinhalese, barred from the rights they rightly deserve to cultivate the lands that belongs to them.!!
