Excellent share - I see the Adjustable Bend - we use that on our Travelift at my club to space the two monster straps that go under the sailboats when we pluck or launch boats. Never saw how it was formed til now, thanks.

Great summary! Another one, like overhand bend, there is figure 8 when two line ends goes together to create figure 8 knot.

I like it. Everyone should know the sheet bend and the double sheet bend. I do like the zepplin bend. The hunters bend I know differently. These are all great. A longer list than I've ever seen 👍👍👍

I was looking for a certain bend, because I didn’t know the name. I found it within your 24. The vice versa bend! Being a rope access technician I would say my favorite bends to use are the 1.sheet, 2. Double sheet, 3. Zeppelin, 4. Vice Versa (now that I know it’s name) 5. Figure 8 bend, 6. Butterfly bend, 7 double fisherman. I rarely go outside these bends for just about all applications using ropes! Great video thank for sharing I learned a lot more bends!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Absolutely fascinating! Thank you for including what the knots are used for (mountaineering, paracord jewelry etc). And thank goodness I already knew some of these knots already - I've got ropes and cord hanging off my railing, practicing the knots from your prior videos, and I thought my brain would melt if I had to learn an additional 24 new knots. Thankfully, some are also variations of my knot knowledge (Lapp knot), so the learning curve will be reasonable. Yesterday, my husband needed cordage tied to lift a heavy load. I proudly stepped in with the knot knowledge you have taught me :D

These are great! Thank you. But you left out my favorite knot the Ashley's Bend invented by Clifford Ashley. Perhaps you have heard of him.

All this knots are ok for soft static rope. But, dynamic rope for climbing?

You have a mistake. Your double fisherman’s knot is not correct. The second & third wraps need to cross backwards over the first wrap.

Excellent video. Except your Zeppelin bend is actually an alternate way to tie the Hunter's bend The "bd" method. A Zeppelin bend is usually tied with the "69" method. They are very similar knots. But the Zeppelin knot has the two binding "loops" on opposite sides, while the Hunter's bend has them on the same side.

That Adjustable Bend is interesting. It's like a cross between the Icecicle Hitch and the Double Fisherman's knot.

Excellent video! My only quibble is your use of the term "THE hunter's bend", (which makes it seem like game hunters use this knot for something... they don't). A British physician, Dr. Edward Hunter, simply used this knot to fix broken shoelaces in the 1970's! (I guess British doctors can't afford new ones). I'm glad you ALSO referred to it as the "rigger's bend", a name given to it by the American longshoreman who actually invented it, Phil Smith, WAY BACK IN 1943! Why doesn't Smith get the credit? Simple: the "International Guild of Knot Tyers", (IGKT), is a BRITISH organization. As we all know, the Brits invented the light bulb, too! Anyway, two thumbs-up from me. Keep these great videos coming!

Your double fisherman's is spilled incorrectly and will slip under load.

You are right. At 04:46 this is no Double Fisherman's knot.

You tight the Slipped Square Knot at 01:15 wrong. This is an Slipped Granny Knot. But the picture at 01:11 before shows the right Slipped Square Knot.
@physicist1372 жыл бұрын
The slipped square knot you tied was a slipped granny knot. Your Zeppelin bend was wrong. Your Simple Simon had a turn too much. The double Fisherman's wasn't dressed well. Three and a half fails (that I recognized, so maybe even more) - that doesn't make the best knot channel.
