Love the way you used the tiles vertically, grout always takes repeated wiping and cleaning to get it all off. Love your nerve and determination doing this restoration. Gives me motivation and I'm 73! ♥

Anna, to clean grout smear off the tiles, you can use 1 part phosphoric acid and 4 parts water. No stronger than that. Then just wipe down with water after. The best thing to do when grouting tiles, is to continuously change the water and clean the sponge. It's much easier if you have someone to clean the sponge and refresh the water for you as you go.
@annasgmlindgren Жыл бұрын
Great tip! Some one else mentioned that too. I bought something similar in the store, which I will try out. If it doesn't work I'll go for the phosphoric acid 🙂

That Tawny owl noise is nice. We have Eastern Screech Owls here, their calls aren't actually a screech. The night calls are a long warbling noise that is kind of nice, but sometimes sounds like a person crying with right acoustics in the woods next to our house.
@annasgmlindgren Жыл бұрын
Ooh screech owl call sounds a bit scary in my opinion.. There is this old saying here that the tawly owl brings a message of death, but I have chosen not to believe that 😉

Hej Anna. Tack för dina fina videos. Beträffande fläckarna på kaklet i badrummet, förmodligen går de väck med saltsyra. Blöt en svamp o stryk över ytan. Låt verka några minuter o tvätta med vatten. OBS skyddsglasögon o kemika, ie resistenta handskar! Hälsningar från Frankrike, där jag bor. ❤

Hi, I know that I am writing this after the fact but, if you seal your tile and grout prior to using the shower, it will be easier to maintain. There is a product for just this purpose so it should be readily available. Clean well prior to use and reseal on a yearly basis afterwards. It looks great and I think the dark grout is kinda edgy. :)

Not sure I understand exactly what you mean but that could be something to consider for future tiling jobs for sure 😊

The shower tile should be sealed before you grout, this prevents stains, then after the grout is done and very dry, you seal again, this prevents mildew and other contaminants, and hard water and soap scum from becoming impossible to remove. Once you have the second sealer coat on the tiles you will see how important it is, because now the tiles will stay beautiful and EASY to clean. Carefully select the right grout type, sealer and adhesive type in which good results depends on whether natural or man made tile.

I love seeing your progress - great work! Curious if the water around the trees is a result of flooding or is it a river/creek? I know there were lots of storms recently but not sure if you had issues
@annasgmlindgren Жыл бұрын
Thank you 🙏 It is a creek, so it overflows quite quickly with heavy rain, but now it is more or less back to normal again.
