24 Hours Eating in NYC With Just $10!

NYC is filled to the brim with eating options. Many of the most expensive NYC eats are well known to the foodie world. Everyone knows about Peter Luger (in my opinion overrated) and its famous $136 Peter Luger porterhouse steak. Others know about the $100 Sushi Nakazawa meal, a Michelin star establishment founded by Jiro's apprentice Nakazawa. More extravagant food destinations also are well known, such as the $390 Per Se meal, or the $1,000 omakase meal at Masa sushi.
In the midst of all this though, what if I told you that NYC is also filled with cheap eats? NYC cheap eats aren't just dirty water dogs too, or stale hot dogs sold from a cart. You can eat solid meals for less than $5 every single meal if you wanted! It's also not just dollar pizza. While NYC $1 dollar is no doubt legendary, there are carts selling all sorts of affordable breakfast options. And Chinatown is filled with NYC Chinatown cheap eats! You can get cheap dumplings in NYC Chinatown, cheap char siu, and all sorts of affordable options that are budget friendly!
This video is different from my past vids, which tend to focus on bougie expensive steak places. We focus today on affordable meals in NYC and the best cheap food in New York City. This was a really interesting vid UA. I remember working in NYC in the ‘80s and trying to find places that wouldn’t break the bank. I used to go to the Blarney Stone for the $5 London broil lunch (no drink, just water) haha.

Great pics, sir! 1. I love my breakfast carts, and there is nothing wrong with a good old, simple bagel with cream cheese! 2. The dumplings looked excellent! A nice juicy, porky filling. 3. Never been to Percy's, but now I'll check it out. I hang out in the West Village often. And, thanks for the TMNT reference 😉😃 A great daily cheap eats list, very much as I've done. Yah NYC is nice not to charge sales tax on food - Kansas City charges 4% sales state tax on food and you still might pay sales tax for both county and city. Despite the cost of living differences, food is still cheaper and more plentiful in NYC than KC.

Enjoyed this. I've been to Tasty Dumpling before, and I've eaten "off the cart" so many times on my way to class. With the cream cheese on the bagel, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. Might depend on what day it is or how much of a rush someone was in when preparing them, it's an NYC thing. I haven't tried Percy's, yet, but since my buddy's name is Percy, I'm definitely going now. My one slight criticism is that you don't tell viewers how much it was in transit fees to get to each place. Someone coming into NYC needs to know that your 10-dollar day will in fact cost them between 20 and 30 dollars with transportation thrown in. It's a minor thing and not completely relevant to your video but does need to be stated. If you walked to all of these places that's great but a tourist who might be staying in Mid-town ain't walking to Chinatown more than likely.

Just to get around NYC can be expensive. Especially if you don't know some of the shortcuts (expense wise) that most New Yorkers know. Thankfully the MTA dropped the two fare zones back in the 1980s.
