My late uncle, who was from Trinidad & Tobago, West Indies, lived in Birmingham from 1960 to 1979. He said it was the best years of his life. He'd loved England, but he couldn't take more of the cold weather so he returned to T & T. For me, I would have stayed in England.

0121 gang in the comments! I am glad you visited Brum, it's a lovely city with usually a lot more to see, but obviously it all depends on the time and weather. You need to get up to the custard factory area in Digbeth as soon as nightclubs, bars and restaurants open up even more in the future! Grand Central and the Bullring have some great shops and restaurants inside which are more affordable than The Mailbox which is a luxury shopping centre. As someone who has lived here my entire life, I'm noticing a lot of good changes coming to the city centre as they're redeveloping a lot of it right now for HS2, so we're in this weird period where there's new and exciting things opening up, but obviously the pandemic has caused the centre to be quieter than it used to be.

Nice video however .

Great to see you visit Brum, though I thought you sort of wasted your 24h as you didn’t leave your apartment till 5pm? You could of visited one of the many art galleries, museums, didn’t visit the bull ring for the majority of stores you probably would of liked… No trip to Digbeth for the amazing street art and unusual bars/restaurants… also you missed out the cooler bars/restaurants areas while out in the evening? I really think Birmingham needs a good few days or long weekend to really appreciate the city… Your local guide was awful too, didn’t seem to know the cool spots or much of where things are lol, maybe she doesn’t go into central Birmingham often? Maybe next time you will have a better look about with a little research of what’s on and where to go etc as it’s a wonderful city with great nightlife
