1:52 so you translated it as a "lunch danish" but it would actually be a breakfast danish. The reason is that in quebec we say "déjeuner, diner, souper" for breakfast, lunch and dinner. But in france, they say "petit-déjeuner, déjeuner, diner".

For all the tourists in Mtl: There is a 10$ metro pass for tourists (or locals) that allows you to travel all you want for a day ! Unlimited ! I would suggest it if you have more than 2 stops in Montréal that are far apart.
@andrewb4984 Жыл бұрын
To add to that, a weekly pass is unlimited and costs $30. We got ours right at the airport and more than got our money's worth. Kids ride for free and the transit system (subways and buses) is simple to navigate even if you don't speak a lick of french. It's clean, safe and on time. Skip the uber. Use the public transit system whenever possible that's how we found some great random spots.

Pro tip: Joe Beef requires getting a reservation well ahead of time. If you can't get one, you can try Livepool House next door by the same chefs. If again you can't, there's Vin Papillon next next door and that one is walk-in only, so you always have a chance to get a table.

I will travel the world with confidence trough your other videos because I know you have this talent to show things as they really are :-)

Thanks for reminding me of all the good places we've got ! Can't wait to go back out once we are out of confinement! Next time, you should try St-Viateur bagles! And I had no idea peanut butter dumplings started here!! Also, a little clarification for the danish. In France, "déjeuner" means 'lunch' (and 'petit déjeuner' is breakfast) but here in Québec, we mostly refer to breakfast as 'déjeuner', lunch as 'dîner' and dinner as 'souper', which makes a little more sense with the egg in that danish! :)

Next time, if you'd like a bit of a history lesson on Montreal, I suggest you visit the Pointe-à-Callière museum - it's also located in Old Mtl! And I had to read Le Libraire as part of my high level French course's required readings in CEGEP (general and vocational college, usually last 2 or 3 years and takes place between high school and university) and well... I don't think anyone really found it all that interesting from what I vaguely remember. All I know is that I got through it really quickly and never touched it again lol.

Good ear on the Québécois pronunciation. When there is a t or d before i and u, the letter d converts to a dz sound and t converts to a ts sound in québécois. And the long "i" sometimes gets shortened. So poutine sounds like "poutsin" and mardi sounds like "mardzi." I love Montreal! Even in winter... : )
