Always a treat to see your adventures. Your explanation of each composition as well as the photo itself is exceptional in understanding why one photo works and others fall short of what you were looking for. Thank you for sharing your experience. How you video all of this is amazing. Thank you!

Thanks Joel, I suspect that puts some people off, but it feels the most natural way for me to do these videos to be honest!

16:16 is actually my favourite! The difference in contrast makes it feel more dynamic. The foreground and midground composition is also nice. Maybe if the peaks were further left of frame that would bring a really nice balance with the grasses to the right of frame.

Spared the hail this time. Fun to see familiar scenes in different light.

Ha yes, spared the hail but we had a lot more rain! Happy New Year Donnie

13:20- agree that is a very nice comp Alex. This scene is a challenge to balance the front,mid and back together for the reasons you give. Your foreground tip is very helpful; one I look forward to employing next time out.

I think the problem with mountain photography in general is that foregrounds can often feel like they are cut out and stuck onto an image. They don’t always integrate so well and that is particularly true if there is some substantial difference in the flora, as there is in the Berg!

Very nice, thanks! Could you give the sound a little more respect in future video please? I have an old iPad and lots of the dialogue is just too quiet, thx.
@alexnail22 сағат бұрын
Sorry about that, I do actually give a lot of attention to sound, but perhaps I got the level *slightly* too low this time. It’s tricky to get right and I am a photographer first!

Also: Isn't that kinda dangerous walking through a storm?
@alexnailКүн бұрын
Yes, but no more dangerous than standing in a storm! The problem is the seeking shelter such as caves and cliffs actually increases your risk. So really you have two choices up there, carry on or descend, and since we weren’t on a summit or ridge at any point, and no meaningful descent was possible, we carried on.
