Hello everyone!!
Welcome back once again!
This week I head out solo into the forest for a bushcraft hammock camp.
I try out my new king size hammock and share a few tips on setting up a hammock and wild camping in the woods.
I make a bushcraft pot hanger for my Dutch oven for some campfire cooking which was delicious.
Thanks for watching the video !
The hammock is from DD Hammocks and is the frontline model.

I just got back from a one nighter with the dog, cooked a chicken on the same setup you did there minus the hanger obvs. Once again, it was you who inspired me 3 years ago to get off my arse and get a bag together. When I needed advice, I dropped you a message and you replied, helping me no end. So thanks again Craig, you sir are a legend! 🙏🤙🤟👍

Under-blankets are way more comfortable, especially if you sleep on a diagonal. Also when you get in you instantly feel warmth reflecting back to you. It is like night and day.

I used to do this when a lot younger, I'll soon be 67 but walk for miles almost every day plus do a little weights, press ups and bands for strength. Bought a rooftop tent so hope to be getting out and about a lot more especially Island hopping in Scotland where I'm from. I really like watching your adventures. Thanks for sharing.

Doing great man, thanks for asking! You don't have to answer this comment if you're busy. I do get out in the woods and build fires, though I think here in the states we've got more places to do that legally. I don't get out as often as I like, but I've got some stuff planned soon! Love the hammock camping too! Love your channel because you're so chill, and I say you include some other stuff too, whatever you're up to! Also, hello to all the East Anglian community!

Mosquito nets are essential. I also prefer a tarp over the top closeish if it;s going to rain or a bit higher up if it's hot. I prefer to use one of the big wool blankets rather than a foam pad in a hammock. I tend to use a lighter sleeping bag and if it gets cold those are perfect.

I go out as often as I can to some spots, have one for fishing one for a woodland built up camp etc. Always mindful of my fire's footprint and what may be in the soil under the fire. Biggest fear by a long shot is a root fire, so if I'm unsure of a fire in a spot, its bush buddy, folding firepit or no fire at all.

Love a good hammock camp. Here in the Pacific NW we've got huge trees, so you end up packing more weight in hammock strap than you do in the rest of your sleep setup Hammock camping is always the most comfortable camp for me. But, I've noticed I've gotta get up and water the dry trees more in a hammock than in any other sleeping setup. 😅 Looks like a great day in the woods, decompressing from the madness. I'm doing well, and I hope you've been finding a good balance in things yourself. Regarding a seperate channel; From what I've seen, that never works the way folks expect. The second channel never does as well and always needs a lot of work. But, worth keeping in mind, a lot of us (myself included), watch these as a parasocial relationship, IE folks watch these cause they enjoy the personality you present on here, enjoy the hang out, the conversation. The topics are ones that got us here, but its the quality of the vids and the entertainment and experience you provide that keeps us. Just like how we all enjoy hanging out with our friends even when they're just doing boring stuff, it ain't so much about what you're doing its that you're willing to include us with the experience. Just my thoughts.

I tend to use the Jetboil, but just for peace of mind, I'd use a box stove, or the base of the kelly kettle. I think it's horses for courses mate. Got another little tip for you...with the hazel...green branch, use the spine of your knife to scrape into nest type fibres and let it dry in your pocket. Ferro rod spark when its dry (doesnt take long to dry either) and there's your starter flame. Gotta love a hammock...I curl up in mine on my side. Loving the carving kit by the way

Been watching your channel for a while now and you've inspired me to get off my arse and active again. I'm retiring this year at 67 year old, I've been buying wild camping kit for months now & plan to start in a small woodland a couple of miles from my home, managed by the local council on behalf of Yorkshire Water. Back in the 80's I spent three years in the territorial army, became a member of the shooting team, won some awards including a bronze & a silver at Bisley TASAM. I loved those times, especially the fieldcraft exersizes. Keep up the good work, including the talks on mens mental health. One man commits suicide every 2 hours, this is a sad result of modern life & something needs to change...
