What do you wish you could go back and tell your younger self?
@RobertaStonequist3 ай бұрын
there's no such thing as a perfect mom, and you don't have to be afraid to trust the instincts God has given you. He made you, He know you, He loves you. you're enough.
@caitlinryder8983 ай бұрын
I'd tell her it would be ok. No matter how scary it was it was all worth it. I would tell her to hire a food delivery service or ask for more help. I'd hug her and tell her she does not need to "do it all" there is no "super mom" badge. I'd tell her how proud of her I was and that she was not alone even though it felt so lonely. I'd tell her to go outside more.

That I don’t have to try to have a perfectly tidy and clean home, that I don’t need to adhere to such a strict schedule, and that the newborn phase, as challenging as it can be, will be gone in the blink of an eye and it will never come back, so enjoy cuddling your baby and let lots of other things slide. Housework is never going to go away!

Woke up on my 50th birthday and your video is the first and only i watched. As i was making my coffee i was thinking the best thing ive done in my life is having my babies. Loved this video. Loved the mud pies and the chicken doing math in the yard. Youve captured these days beautifully. Not only on film, but youve literally captured them by choosing to capture them and not succumbing to the pressures the world puts on a new mother. Bless you and yours Madisun.

I love how you are walking around with your postpartum belly. That is something that is hard to do on a public platform. Nice job. Love watching the homeschooling outside with the little one. Newborn phase is very tricky indeed (and I am not a fan because of how tiring it is, even though it is beautiful). I also nursed all of mine (all over a year). I agree that being a mom of three (which I also am) is harder to imagine if there wasn't minimalism involved in it too. It was so beautiful to see this video. Hope you and your family continue to thrive.

How beautiful you all are! I nursed my twins, who were 5 weeks early. They didn’t nurse well right away and my milk took awhile to come in. Those first six weeks were tough but finally things started to flow. Then I was up nursing and changing diapers around the clock! That went on for about 9 months. They are 42 now, so I’ve lived to tell about it!
@-living4jesus4ever-3 ай бұрын
This is my story, too! Way to go, Mama! My twins are now 7 1/2 and thriving. I nursed them to 15 months…they were my number 3 and 4 out of 4 beautiful littles I had in 3 1/2 years time! I got a horrible puppps hives rash postpartum for 4 weeks after they were born and I remember getting like 3 hrs sleep a night for months but it was sooo worth it. Now the 4 of my littles ages 11 and under are all besties and it’s soo fun seeing them all be into the same things together! ❤❤❤❤

Having a child changed my life. I wouldn't stress over the sleep.. I wouldn't be so hard on myself over little things, try to not to worry as much. I would stop trying to control everything. Your videos changed my outlook on life and the joy of having children. It has helped so much. ❤❤

Slow down and then slow down even more is what I would tell my younger self . During the newborn phase that we just loved in those newborn moments and yes that the only goals were to make sure we got fed somewhat regularly and slept whenever we could such as we could but yes didn't give sleeping a whole lot of thought or stress about it.

Love it! Babies teach us that instead of getting more done, we should create a life where there’s “less to do.” I’d imagine most of us wish we approached being a new mom the way you did in this film. Precious. But there’s grace and we can still apply the grace and less to do mentality and slow living wherever we are at now, so long as there’s breath in our lungs! ❤❤❤

Congratulations on your new addition ❤ I’m 37 and I have 2 boys, 18 and 9. Because of minimalism, I was able to slow down and enjoy my second son’s first year 1000% percent. I was calmer too. I know how fast that first year goes by and then they’re no longer a baby. So I enjoyed every moment to the fullest, even the messy ones ♥️ Still enjoying the next years after they’re no longer babies too! As they grow, some things fade (like cuddles etc) and some new things start (having meaningful conversations and seeing them become who they are etc) All moments are great in different ways and I cherish them all ❤ I enjoy your videos, just hearing your voice makes me feel calmer and motivates me, especially if I’m having a rough day or feeling overwhelmed (which is a lot less often, but I still have moments.. being anxious and having ocd) You are seriously a gem.❤ P.S. I’ve been patiently craving a new video from you. 😂 I know you’re enjoying this phase of life so thank you for this 🙏

You are such an inspiration. I am currently 37 weeks pregnant with my 4th baby. I homeschool too, we live in Puerto Rico. I also made some meals already. I think as women we expect perfection from ourselves and especially when it comes to your first child. Nothing ever goes as planned and that’s okay. It’s a wondrous time but also an exhausting time. Enjoy the journey as our children grow up so fast.

My boys were so excited to see you guys doing Good + Beautiful Math! We're in level K with one and just started level 2 with the other. My oldest was like, "Oh man, they have the wooden boxes!" Because he and I both like the wooden box vibe better than the new boxes, but I resisted my urge to scour eBay for the wooden ones when it came time to purchase curriculum. haha Also, so refreshing to see you actually use some curriculum, because I feel like a bad homeschool mom sometimes for using curriculum, or at least that I'm making it too hard, according to the die-hard unschoolers. :D If you've taught me anything, though, it's to DO WHAT WORKS FOR US and brings our family peace and thriving as we enjoy God. :) And right now, a bit of curriculum, approached in a flexible manner, works for us. :)

Thank u for addressing the struggles of breastfeeding even as u are doing it for the third time. I only have one baby and gave up bf after a couple of weeks whilst combo feeding, post c- section. I wish i had persevered more in a way... like u said it was just a shock and worry if he was getting enough as he was always so hungry and unsettled. Ended up pumping and combo feeding. Now hes 9 months and fully formula fed as i couldn't keep up with the pumping anymore either. If i was to have another child, its my full intention to persevere with breastfeeding as its such a beautiful thing.

I am going to be a first time mommy and anytime someone asks me what I’m doing and I say I’m relaxing for a bit I always get something like this “laughs, well better enjoy it because those days are about to be over 😭” I don’t mean to be insensitive to anyone but isn’t it normal to try and relax the most you can after a baby? Like why do all I hear about is how my world is going to flip upside down, I’ll never sleep again, I’ll never relax again… again I know I haven’t had her yet but sometimes it’s so discouraging when I am trying to share my excitement of having my first and I get bombarded with how I am never going to enjoy life again or atleast that’s how it seems with the tone of voice that’s used.. Any seasoned mommas who have any tips for me going into a new chapter of my life I would really appreciate your wisdom if you have any to share. I am dead set on enjoying this transition although I know it won’t be all butterflies I want to keep my perspective on children are the blessing, we can do this and I can still have Gods peace no matter what season I’m in. I’ll be at home so I am so very blessed to not be worried about going back to work or anything like that, I want to focus on soaking this up.

I would tell myself to slow down even before baby arrives. The day before getting induced, i deep cleaned the whole house while being nearly 2 weeks overdue. I didn't have my mom around for advice (shes passed) or anyone else around, as i live in a different city to my family. As a first time mom, I didn't really think to rest because i would need my energy for labour and delivery. I was so so so tired! I wish i rested more before and prepared more healthy meals in advance. Other than that i was fairly minimal and used/ needed everything i bought for baby. I wish i saved my energy more prior though. Any expecting mothers, please rest as much as possible and learn from me ❤

I am a mom of four (ranging from 8months - 5years) and I am still humbled so regularly. I would tell my younger self to slow down and trust in what God has planned for your day. Truly. Walk gently through your day. Don't give yourself a to do list because that sets you up for frustration and disappointment. Instead see where God leads you and welcome each new moment (and each blow out or tantrum) as a divine appointment given to you by God rather than an interruption. God bless you, Mama. And to every Mama that is reading this- remember you are loved and held by God and He will walk with you through every trial and every success❤️
