Pros and cons to everything. We are more disconnected in person, but we're more connected long distance. Without my phone and social media, I wouldn't have talked to my best friend but maybe twice a year since 2011 when she moved for college. We're on opposite sides of the world for work now. AND with smart phones, we have access to limitless information. The con to that being that any idiot can say whatever want on the internet and steer the masses astray.

I wasn’t allowed phones at my summer camp so I went 8 days without it. And honestly once it was gone, I didn’t even miss it. Like the longer I was away from it and actually living my life, the less I wanted it back. It was so refreshing and I felt so alive. And when we had time sitting there for awhile, we would come up with different games and things and actually talk to and connect with each other. You really don’t realize what you are missing out on until you put the phone away for awhile.

Luckily I have parents and friends who are still old fashioned and will most definitely keep it that way. Everything is so computerized even the occupation my dad retired from which is plumbing/pipe fitting is all digital and computerized. my dad who visited me last year said that if he was to do plumbing and pipe fitting he would not have a clue how to do it because of it being computerized.
