As a former Muay Thai guy and a hobbiest boxer I honestly found this kind of easy and used it as a quaint little exercise on my off days. HOWEVER... the more I watch it the more I realise that I wasn't doint it justice. The authorative 'snap' of the techniques, the subtle shifts in the hips, balance and footwork. The more I tried to match the quality the better the workout became and I came to appreciate skillful karate technique. I'm nowhere near "ring condition" these days, but I've found these workouts are great because they force me to work everything in balance (I was always fighting orthodox) and help me keep mobility and flexibility as I get older. The little preview before each exercise is a brilliant innovation for people like me, too

My friend, it's been years since I last trained as hard as that... I watched the whole video without skipping, going back in mind and body to that time... I have to thank you because of this video, your technique (left or right with same explosive energy) and finally your effort, because even when your physical strength was fading, your heart kept on and made you finish all the way. When you think you won't get there and yet, you do. That's Karate.

very nice young man! Karate has been part of my life for 25 years, many training days and hours and teaching and leading a dojo. And still, you taught me some great things, in particular some kihon combinations and interesting foot work. I was also an Office in the Marines, so have a foundation of intense physical training. Your routine definitely pushes the endurance and stamina. Thank you

@@karatewithelian9014 I am 59 years old, black belt shotokan karate 4 Dan, really before the pandemic my training pace was strong but with the pandemic I stopped going to the dojo and I lost a lot of elasticity, physical shape and ease in technical training. The little space I have at home helped little to train normally ... I gained about 5 kilos, discouragement took hold of me, but in January 2021 I decided to do this tabata every day, and I have noticed a lot of improvement, I have lost 3 kilos and I have regained quite a level, normally I have always had a facility for kicking and elasticity, however today in addition to the 24-minute tabata, I complement my training with kata adapted to the little space and other virtual classes of great masters such as Ohta Sensei, Andre betel, rick Hotton and of course teachers like katsuya Naka, and the spanish Luis Maria Sanz ... soon I will return to the dojo with my teammates, but I will continue training at home with team ki !!

@@jorgedanielpinedovaquer8964 thank you for giving your time to reply and thanks for the advice at the end! Green belt about to be blue belt (hopefully) and there Is a tourney after 2 days so I hope I can win it oss
@jorgedanielpinedovaquer89643 жыл бұрын
The good thing about training karate do is that with continuous training and learning you see that you are constantly progressing and climbing steps both in improving technique and in improving physical and elasticity, so do not worry if you now have difficulty with the kicks because leveling up makes you more demanding of yourself but at the same time you enjoy seeing that your body responds better to that demand, I encourage you to continue training that luckily katate do not age or limit. I'm sure the blue belt is good for you and the brown one will be much closer ... good luck and see you next time !!
@jorgedanielpinedovaquer89642 жыл бұрын
I have really improved the physical background and even the speed in the sequence of techniques, following the rhythm of this tabata maintaining the speed by increasing the kime has greatly improved my technical execution for a longer time in training with my companions in the dojo, since when you lose depth in an intense class, you usually lower the technical level, however I have improved this aspect a lot with this and other Team ki tabatas.

I'm on a path to lose weight and I stumbled upon your video. I've just finished the workout and boy oh boy was it a challenge. I am 240 pounds and my goal is to be at least 160. Not only did I take this as a workout lesson, but as a way to learn karate moves too. However I only did the upper body parts though and not the kicking parts in this video because I'm just not flexible enough. Hopefully one day I might kick as well as you, once when I lose the weight lol. Thanks for the tutorial man!
