Fun fact about the Baci: baci is the plural of "bacio" that means kiss in Italian. They were invented in 1922 and originally the creator wanted to call them "cazzotti" that means punches or wallops due to their shape. However the president of the company decided it wasn't a very appealing name and renamed them "Baci" and had the idea of inserting scrolls with love quotes from literature or songs.

You're telling me we could've had chocolates called cazzotti, with Bud Spencer and Terence Hill quotes instead? Man, we missed out. Someone should revive that idea.

The italian candy company FERRERO dominates the European sweets market. All KINDER products ate from Ferrero and of course Nutella

In our country (Italy), we eat rum babà in pastry shops, not pre-packaged; then in Italy we have always bought Ringo (from which Oreo was copied) and Ringo for me is better - We eat nougat at Christmas

For the sweet, lots of italians like me prefer to use less sugar and less salt and more naturally sweetened or salty foods, to give more flavour to what we're eating

We also have pocket coffee, the lago roll breaks (also the lago waffers), the nutella biscuits, the kinder eggs and those lay's in Portugal (i know they are from italian origin)

Porchetta it isnt tuscan, it is all over Italy, but, the real one is from Rome precisely in a nearby town called Ariccia
@TheUnknownPleasuresАй бұрын
Totally made up. Exactly like Tiramisù a lot of people claim to be the original place where the plate was born. Probably it was just an Etruscan delicacy, so it makes sense to call it "tuscan" in a way.

There’s so many cool snacks to try here. I noticed people either love or hate the pocket coffee. Do different regions of Italy have their own snack preferences?
