DIY cleaning products were the first zero waste swap I made because it was cheaper, healthier and just as effective.
Have you tackled DIY cleaning yet? If you’re looking for a place to start reducing your waste, I would def recommend your cleaning caddy.
The main five ingredients I use to clean my home are:
1. Vinegar
2. Baking Soda
3. Hydrogen Peroxide
4. Liquid soap like @drbronner
5. Water
I’m not sure if water really counts as an ingredient, but that’s it! So, simple and making your own cleaners takes less than a minute I promise!
My other top hack is using bar towels because they do a great job of absorbing water instead of pushing it around - which is SO important when you ditch paper towels.

Hi! You can make a delicious Tuscan soup with stale bread, here's the recipe for 6 people: Ingredients: 5 tablespoons of olive oil 2 big golden or red onion 3 garlic cloves 2/3 cans of tin peeled tomatoes or 6/8 tomatoes (San Marzano are better) 1 loaf of stale bread 1 carrot 1 stick of celery 6/7 cloves A little nutmeg powder 3 juniper berries Recipe: First make the stock: In 4.5 litres of cold water put the carrot, celery, one garlic clove, a little bit of nutmeg, the juniper and stick the cloves in the onion and then put it in the water. Bring to a light simmer and let all the flavours infuse. Then filter the broth and put the bread in it to soak. In another pot roast the garlic in the oil and then add the onion. When the onion is nice and soft (a little burnt is better, trust me!) add the tin/diced tomatoes and salt. You can also customize this tomato sauce by adding either rosemary, parsley, oregano or laurel (pick just one or the flavours will fight each other). When the sauce is nice and cooked add it to the bread and broth (break the bread in pieces with a spoon). And let it cook for another 10/15 minutes. At this point you can add basil, but just if you haven't used any flavours in the sauce (if you have added rosemary, for example, stick with that). If you don't like your soup too chunky you can use an immersion blender to blend it a little bit. Voilà! You've made Pappa al pomodoro, a very poor but tasty dish!
