Great series of videos. I think that an alternative way to do things can be by using the single MAV method with slope but adding a condition that the slope has to be higher than X percentile (say 5 -10 or 15%) of the past 800 readings to be classified as an uptrend/downtrend.

Hi Martyn, thanks as ever ! What flumoxes me is how to programmatically decide on what period I should be looking at to decide on whether it's an uptrend, MAs are divergent, etc. I can't stick my eyes and brain into the code I write !
