Fun thing I found while playing: If you go to the museum, go to the fossil area. Go to the last room where you can see all of the modern descendents of the fossils up on the balcony. On the far right, the last animal silhouette will be a monkey and there is a blank spot next to it. If you step into that spot, the light above you will turn on, turning you into part of the exhibit (since humans and apes are closely related). That made me smile.

I really like this style of animal crossing video. It’s kind of half let’s play/half guide with some fun in between. Also something I just thought of is that if you get tarantula or fish island, it be a good idea to bring extra sticks to make extra fishing rods or nets in case one breaks so you can easily make another without having to leave all the creatures behind.

As to the tarantulas not chasing you sometimes, I believe they actually only aggro you when you have a net out. I was running around with a ladder and one was running away from me! Also, another way of catching tarantulas is to get your net out, and slowly approach it, but stop whenever it stands up and hisses. You're pretty much playing red light green light for 8,000 bells.

If you don't time travel you'll run out of things to do pretty quickly. Remember that some people skip days multiple times a day so they always have new respawns when they start the game again. I don't time travel so i can only play an hour or two in a day

Hey! if you haven't caught the koi or any of the types of goldfish yet, just know that all you need is a small pond in your town. Luckily, my town came with a small and I caught the koi and goldfish from them. the pond I caught them in was a LOT smaller than the fish pond shown towards the end of this video. I hope this helps someone catch the fish they want! Also, put the goldfish in your home because they come with an extremely ornate Chinese-styled bowl that's white with a blue pattern. : )

AustinJohn if you get the tool ring and you encounter a wasp’s nest, open up the tool ring, and while you are selecting you’re tool the wasps won’t attack you, allowing you to switch to your net.

On your own island, you can take your rows of flowers and space them out into X patterns so they crossbreed and make hybrids! They sell for more bells and they end up being really cool with minimal effort on your part. Plus you can make black roses (red x red) to fill in the black path spots in the pokeball design you made, which would be cool as heck! I been loving watching your playthroughs! Thank you :)

Hey Austin did you know that when you hear a chirping sound at a place where there doesn’t seem to be anything you can dig up a mole cricket? Edit: so I played a bit today and found a bag worm. You guys can get that one from shaking trees or hitting them with the flimsy or stone axe. It hangs down from a thread for a bit and then goes back up. Shaking the tree again makes it fall down again. I don’t know how long you can do the whole bungee jumping bag worm spiel before it disappears but once it’s in the tree again doesn’t mean it’s lost. I also caught three sturgeons. One of them is my roommate. I call it Sturgeant Bubbles.

This is my first Animal Crossing as well. I was hesitant to buy it just like you, so what I can say is this: -If you like games like Stardew Valley or City Building games, or even Don't Starve you may enjoy this game. -It is not an exciting game, it's more like a chill, relaxing kind-of-vibe game. -You have like 100 things to do every day, like collecting stuff, going to other islands, making DIY projects etc. So there is always something to do. If you are into those things, you are never going to be bored. -The are like a billion pro tips out there that newbies like us just don't know, so at the beginning you may be a little confused. -I have the theory that southern hemisphere get less things in terms of frecuency than northern one, but it may just be my bad luck. -The game is really good, but only if you already are into these life simulator games AND you are willing to spend a lot of hours on a single game.

I was on the fence as well, never played AC before this one, I just decided to go ahead and buy it, and I've been hooked. Very chill at the start, but once you start building up your island it's very satisfying to see it all grow.

This is my first one as well and I have no regrets. I really needed this as a change of all the fast paced games. It was annoying first but then I quickly learned how to relax. Now i can't get enough of it. I play all day and night lmao. This is easily one of my favorite games if not my favorite. I have also implemented this game in my life to when I get mad, sad or gets urge to start using drugs again, I use this game as a distraction, it is really efficient! I absolutely LOVE this game, i love it so much lmao

A couple quick tips I've found. 1. Spamming (A) while the "crafting" animation is happening will make your character do that animation faster. Thus, take less time to craft. 2. While picking up an item as a "follower" in multi play, you can press (B) during the "look what I got" animation and the item will be received faster. So you can pick up items quicker.

I'm the same. I think its (yet another lol) anti time travel mechanic. This is why I am going ObTime (probably by the end of today lmao) and then going to wait at least 24 to 48 hours have passed without any time-skips before I visit another random island. I think they added this mechanic that locks you to what you already have, to discourage you from using time travel. I get it. You want players to play at YOUR CREATOR SPEED! Its as bad as the mmo/arpg makers blocking our ability to turn off shadows. I turn them off because I'm behind with my graphics card and can't upgrade (old board and comparability issues) and generally, I don't like shadows. Haven't since morrowind lol. But now they won't let us. They say its DirX 11/12 issue. But we think its the makers grumbling we won't see their work, the way they want it to be seen. I can do that on a video here on utube. I CAN'T play properly! if I set my graphics to what you want it at lol. Better to play the game without shadows, than to play Lag-Fest Simulator but see it as intended.

I've noticed that bugs tend to spawn on top of flowers when there's a greater diversity of flower colours. I've had smaller patches of over 3 flower colours spawn 3-4 stink/man-faced bugs each- and on the other side of my island I'll have massive FIELDS of white tulips with absolutely nothing on them all day.

Wasp nest trick: Have your net equipped and shake the tree. When the nest startles you, you automatically face the wasps. Immediately pressing “A”, which you use to shake trees anyway, will automatically swing the net and catch the wasp. Shaking trees before chopping saves lives.
