The Series S is a great value for money console. Infact, I've just bought a 6 month of Series S with 2 controllers for 140 euros (ca. 140 bucks) from Ebay. 140! Depends how far you are gonna be from your tv and how large your tv is. If you have something h like a 55 inch and your 6 feet away the 1440p up scaled to 4K won’t look very different at least imo.

My 1440p monitor's EDID will only let the S do 1440p60fps, plus there is no audio jack and crappy internal speakers, so I am stuck running my headphones or PC speakers from the controller's headphone jack. I still hate that they do no do usb audio on Xbox and removed optical audio this gen. Getting a HDMI audio extractor prevents me from using freesync, what a pain. So trying to find a decent monitor without spending $700+.

@@FireMrshlBill tbh the HDR on any monitor isn’t great unless you start looking at monitors around £700 plus This monitor does 120hz at 1440p, I’ve tried it with the series s and x and both work at that frame rate. The monitor has the best speakers I’ve heard in a monitor, it has two hdmi 2.0 ports one usb c port and one display port so your covered with almost everything. Image quality is good for it’s price.
